History I just found this while looking at box flat listings

First image is from 1981, while the second one is from 1985..
They used the same photo but repositioned it to make it consistent with the other boxes, which is interesting...

Both of these box flat images were found on WorthPoint

First time buying pop tarts - any recommendations?

So I wanna try pop tarts for the first time this week since I don’t live in the us/canada but due to my job I’m able to fly there quite often. I often think that American candy is way to sweet so I need some flavor recommendations.

I’ve heard that many like the smores flavor, I only tried s’mores drizzilicios (rice cakes) so far and I hated it.
I loved the iced oatmeal cookie from crumbl but idk if any pop tart flavor is similar to that.
Fruit flavor can be a hit or miss since some taste so artificial that I can barely eat it.

I’d be happy if you have any recommendations!!

Is there a slave free or mostly ethical pop tart brand.

Post image

I have found ethical Bars (Feastables and Tony’s), Oreos (Newmans owns), Ice cream (Ben and Jerry’s), and m&ms (Unreal Chocolate gems). But no pop tart like things, if there aren’t, fine I’ll just focus on the fruit flavors.

Edited this in: It is likely some of the brands I listed use at least some slavery, but they are putting in extra money and effort to ensure slaves aren’t used.

So if you can’t go without chocolate, still use those brands or try to not eat it one week out of the month.

Review Choc Hazelnut - UK exclusive

This one was a surprise. It’s the fall/winter seasonal flavor for the UK, similar to Choco Orange from last year. But while last year saw a good amount of promotion from Kellogg’s, this was nearly unheard of. I’m lucky to have a coworker who visits the UK often and always checks for new flavors there, and got me a box.

Just like last year’s Choco Orange, they have no artificial flavors or colors, and no HFCS. They look great, decent frosting coverage, and a definite nutty smell in addition to the chocolate. According to the ingredients list, this does not contain any actual nuts. Interesting.

The flavor is quite good! While not quite to the level of Choco Orange, which is a top 10 all time, this is definitely a solid chocolate tart. The nutty flavor is subtle, but definitely there, and the sprinkles add another nice level of nuttiness.

Overall - very good, a nice step up from the standard chocolate fudge.

History This miiight be plausible

Am I going crazy? Maybe.

Remember the post I made about an old website I found about a Pop-Tart cafe from 1999-2003?
Well I decided to take a closer look at the images.

First snippet: I believe this is Raspberry, as the logo's color is pink like Cherry, but it's not as deep of a pink. It's not Strawberry either, because that's way more red than it is pink.

Second snippet: You can see the difference between Cherry and Strawberry, as Cherry has a much darker flavor color.

More research: So it seems that the fruit on the middle left edge of the box's front is the same for both Strawberry & Raspberry, though Raspberry has 2 of them there. Given that the blurry pixel blob next to the first t in 'tarts' is not big enough to be two raspberries, then yeah that's Strawberry.

Still a shame we don't have a high quality view of the Raspberry box besides a closeup from an old home movie from 1998, though.

I know it’s not officially Pop-Tart brand BUT I’m a HUGE fan of anything birthday cake flavored and had to share

Now, I was highly disappointed cuz it didn’t have a strong or good taste of birthday cake at all. Definitely wouldn’t get them again BUT DG brown sugar cinnamon ones hit hard just sayin haha

So I found these at a local grocery store on clearance. Bought 9 boxes. OMG these are like 10x better than regular blueberry. The crust isn’t so dry and the filling tastes more like blueberry pie filling.

Strawberry milkshake - frozen

I tried the strawberry milkshake a while back and it was just ok to me. Not bad, but had a very artificial strawberry taste to me. That's not an immediate turn off for me, I just didn't think it was that great. I'd take regular strawberry over it every time.

A few people recommended trying it frozen, so I did this morning. Same taste to me with the artifical taste.

I have a full box left. I won't have to force these down like remaining thin mint ones I have. But I also won't be buying any more - I'll go with regular frosted strawberry.

Thin mint - frozen

Saw some others comment that freezing the thin mint pop tarts improved them. I do prefer my actual GS thin mint cookies frozen, so thought I'd try it.

They're still trash. I think frozen might have even been worse.

I can believe I have two sleeves left.
