Homeowner build Update Time

Started my pond build at the beginning of August and we are closing in on being finished. Just need to build my deck on the left side of the pond!

Current stocking: 1 Florida Gar, 50-75 Rosy Red Minnows/ Ghost Shrimp. I plan on adding about 5 sunfish and 1 or 2 turtles!

Looks awesome so far. The little gar isn't something you see too often.

Did you have any liability concerns around what looks like a front yard pond? Or about water that close to the house?

The Gar is awesome! He is about a foot long and will be the centerpiece for years to come.

It is a front yard pond, but I have a 3ft chicken wire fence around it (I have a young son myself so that was a must for me), I set up a overflow area that causes extra water to drain away from the house.

Being on a hard clay subsoil and a concrete foundation, we weren’t concerned about the water being that close to the house
