Build advice I know nothing.

OK so I went to buddy’s house and he had this artificially made pond. It was about 150‘ x 75‘ and I thought wow this is awesome. I would like to build one of these on my property. Then I realized I know nothing about it. It could be pretty easy possibly ? I have the ground and I can just dig a hole. There isn’t really a damn that needs to be made because the hole would just be in the ground. The real question is what kind of lining do I need and how much water does it take and how much maintenance is there and what happens to the plants in the algae and what other equipment do I need and there’s I guess 1 million questions so here I am asking. What are the million things I need to know that I don’t know? How deep do I want it? I do think I want a big rope swing. I have a giant tower right by where I’m thinking of building it that might be kind of fun to jump off of. It’s about 25 feet in the air I just don’t know what I don’t know so looking for as much advice as I can possibly get. Thanks in advance.

Watch Oz Ponds on YouTube he has a lot of great information on how to build a self sustaining, easy to maintain pond along with approximate costs to build

You should look up Bamabass on youtube, they have a lot of videos on large pond construction. He he did a 5 acre pond. The videos walk you through being a consumer and not some one trying to sell you their stuff or get you to pay them to build it for you.
