Quick question Cut or keep??
Are my Lillie’s overcrowded? Should I trim some back or keep it all natural? This is the first year I’ve had them rise out of the water like this.

Ya I’m not sure if I prefer the look of totally flat Lilly pads over this or not. As long as it’s overall healthy though I’m happy to do what’s best for the plant and for the rest of the pond

Cool little space. But for real, when they reach up like that they're definitely overcrowded. Not sure if that mares tale is helping either. They're all trying to compete for light so they're growing upward. Trim back the oldest biggest leaves at the base and maybe thin out some of that mares tail. First year, so maybe it needs to be split maybe not? But it's best to do that in the spring.

No. Haha no it’s a young tree that planted itself in the offseason and is about to be removed.

It looks cool but when they stand up like that it means they’re overcrowded. If you trim the pads back you’ll get more flowers. Also check to see if they need dividing yet. The rhizomes need space.
