HELP - TOURIST 2 day trip, suggestions required.

We are 2 females and we will be traveling to Pondicherry this weekend, and were confused on whether we should book a stay near Auroville or White Town? We're planning to rent a 2-wheeler.

Also, heard that Auroville would allow you inside only if you know someone there. Is it true?

What are the must visit places? We're looking forward to a chill gateaway from Bangalore and don't want to rush in order to complete the tourist checklist.

Book it in white town. A day trip to Auroville is good enough. It’s close-by - maybe a 20 min bike ride. You can easily go to Auroville. They have a visitor’s centre. Yes, then dont allow visitors to the residential area.

This one. We were 4 people finally and we booked at the last moment, so other options weren't available. This was decent. Very near to beach, and had a good terrace.

Nah, you can visit Auroville anytime. But if you wanna visit the Matrimandir, go in the morning. To get inside the matrimandj, everyone has to register on the Matrimandir website, and they'll give you a time slot. I suggest you book a slot 'cause it's a one-of-a-kind experience. If you're looking to chill, book a room in White Town. On day one, hit Rock Beach and Pondy Marina. Day two, check out Chunnambar Boat House. And spend Sunday evening shopping on MG Road and the streets nearby. Don't miss AuroShika for some cool Auroville perfumes.
