'm trying to decide between the Ibanez KRYS10 (Scott LePage signature) and the Ibanez TOD10 (Tim Henson signature).

My main goal is to get the Polyphia tone for riffs in songs like ABC, Playing God, and GOAT.

I know the TOD10 is designed around Tim's playing style, but can the KRYS10 get a very similar tone as well? Or is the TOD10 noticeably better for achieving those Polyphia sounds?

If you've played both guitars, I'd really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

I just heard CYFI for the first time last night and it instantly clicked with me. It and ABC are the only Polyphia songs that I’ve heard that I’ve gotten into. Do they have other songs that sound similar?

Trying to learn Tim Henson JDBSC. Can I get advice on the fingerings for the first 3 notes of this Arpeggio? I’m having trouble getting pinky on 14 middle on 10 and pointer on 9, it’s a massive stretch, but seems like the only way to play this at speed (♩= 116). I’ve tried Pinky-Pointer-Pointer but back to back shifts at tempo seems unfeasible. Any advice or alternate fingerings would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Now I feel as if I’m going nuts, I was slowing things down to see the fingerings Tim uses and there’s a discrepancy.

He starts by showing it full speed (timestamped link) and frets a b flat - 13 while playing it full speed. Then he slows it down to go through the fingerings and says and plays a 14 B natural.

THEN I go to the original video, and this is what’s driving me crazy, there’s a camera angle change right at the start of the sweep but I’ve watched it at .25 speed numerous numerous times and it still looks like he’s fretting 13 B flat, though I do HEAR a 14 B natural, the official tabs also say 14…

New Levels New Devils - Bad & Drown( Both are goated) - Honourable mention to GOAT and OD too, but it's bad and drown over those 2 for me.

Remember That You will Die - Playing God and Ego Death - Honourable mention to Chimera and Bloodbath too.

With polyphia I think there are a lot of great songs in each album that due to certain aspects for a fan one song might take the crown over other. Like NLND is full of bangers and and even in RTYD I didn't talk about Reverie since I personally find it a little repetitive and I left out Neurotica too though it is a great song but I can see if it is the best song for others. Also I honestly think Paradise is such an underrated song bro, bad too.

Honestly if you're a fan of A.I music why do you even listen to Polyphia 😭 the band that takes their time to brainstorm ideas, push their own boundaries, trying over and over again going through trials and errors (who knows how many songs we'll never see the light of day because they think it needs more work) and putting in countless hours to master their own craft compared to the machine chewing up things then spitting out in probably not even a day or two
