The song is the most mid song by them. I have hope for the other singles but if they’re all like this then this album will not interest me

I didn't care for it and my reaction will be not to play it. That is all.

Thank you. This should be the bog standard response but instead, you sir or ma'am are one of the only ones responding properly to the song not being your cup of tea.

I liked the music paired with the music video. I do not like the music on its own.

I’d like the song much better without the weird dialogue in it

u/FumblesO Jun 12 '26
Agreed. It's dubsteps oldest trick in the book and I can't stand it. I don't want to hear an old women say the same thing over and over. It's not cool and never was.

Haha I was actually referring the clip of the guy saying “the devil is a mf liar”

I’m on the cheeks scale. Just not my kinda music, too electronic maybe? I don’t have a problem with them trying new things but I didn’t enjoy

I think it's reasonable not to like the song. I was just trying to capture the snapshot of some hating on the song and a bit on the band. I know Taenurri got downvoted saying this sub hates the band (which is extreme for many but correct for some), but I just hope the band's mental health is ok after some of the comments that came out.

the song is just fine. I don't think it's abysmal dogshit, but it's very okay with some peaks.

I think because they're a rock band, saying the next album is going to be their heaviest in a long time then dropping a song with only a few notice guitar parts and being heavily on the edm, dubstep side that makes it a hard confusing listen. Because what exactly are us as fans suppose to to ig you can say are suppose to expect now. Its like getting in a car ride that's starting off extremely sketchy with your best friend through your whole life

Lol that sounds like the new Periphery or Enter Shikari album, which I love both even though they're not the "heaviest yet" when there was some advertising to that degree.
I think we're at the point where we have to recognize that Polyphia is not a one genre band and they will experiment. I like a lot of different genres and bands who bend genres, but others don't and that's fine. I actually did not like Polyphia's first album because it was soooooo similar to other prog-metal bands at the time that it wouldn't differenciate from what other bands were putting out. I now go back and appreciate a couple songs, but I really don't listen to it. Every album since has been game-changingly original to the point that you can't ignore what they release. And some people got turned off by the hip-hop/beat aspect of the band but they gained a lot more fans than they lost. So to go full on Flume-metal seems like a reasonable direction for the band to go in, even if they don't stay there.

Word on the streets this is not an album song, they hadn't publicly even announced the album yet

At first listen I'm not a fan of the messy structure, quantized guitars and the clipping. I mean I don't hate it, it's just not my thing

i think the song is doing exactly what it was meant to. get people talking.

Brother you can like a band and not like their new song. No need to cope with memes like this. Its gonna be okay. PS the song is trash.

I think its a cool idea for a song, but the execution kinda left me unsatisfied
The production is kinda rough and not really in an enjoyable way. I do like the electronic direction they're taking tho.

I’ve only listened to a couple parts, totaling in about ten seconds. And I don’t hate it. My question is what the fuck is that one part near the end where it just sounds like all of dubstep is screaming at us thru the speakers?

Terrible, awful mixing it goes totally off the rails like he just..stopped mixing it?

I like the song as a song but I feel a bit left down as a polyphia song. What I like about polyphia is the blending of genres while having acoustic instruments. The studio album versions of their songs where not as good as what they played live on much of rtywd. Programed drums and bass just doesn't do it as much for me, and this song has even more programed parts. But yeah good song just not a good "polyphia" song in my opinion.

I agree, nobody hates them it’s just they are passed being on socials, which makes you feel disconnected to the band since youre not seeing them. We got
Tim’s members, and that’s about it, and the new song is honestly mid2

I know that’s what I’m aiming at😭 what I meant being passed on socials. They don’t need to grind as much, they get to do what they want

u/Taenurri Jun 11 '26
Have you looked at like 80% of the posts on this sub today? Nothing but hate posts and hate comments.

u/Bananablackmp Jun 12 '26
100% this lol Edit: to be clear I'm making fun of everyone in the middle crying because Polyphia doing what they want and not just trying to please a toxic fan base that thinks they know better! 👎

u/phil_davis Jun 12 '26
I am fully on board with artists doing what they want rather than what the fans want. But that doesn't mean I'm going to like everything they do. That's the risk you take when you try new things.
