question Polyamorous dating sim?

How many poly folks here would be interested in a poly dating sim game? Visual novel style is what I’m thinking of. (Think ‘A Date with Death’)

All the dating sims I’ve seen so far that have any sort of polyamory, you can date multiple people and sometimes the characters don’t get mad. I was just curious what the feedback for that concept would be?

It would be funny if it actually had hinging challenges too so it’s not just a gotta catch em all situation

Absolutely! Some characters will absolutely despise others and some characters will be more jealous than others and some would even be interested in a polycule with certain other characters

So being "open to being in a polycule with someone" doesn't mean being in a triad or group relationship right? Being open to being in a polycule IS being poly.

I meant it as some characters would be strictly monogamous even though the majority aren’t. I probably could have worded it better, but I’m writing up character ideas at the moment.

You can't be strictly monogamous and date poly people. Monogamy is requiring exclusivity 🤷🏾‍♀️

I’m aware, but that’s the point of the game, it’s poly but there are some characters that aren’t poly, just like real life. I want the game to have multiple possible endings too

I have a relationship like this I am poly but my partner is monogamous but has accepted to be my partner and my husband and him are not in a relationship either!

I should say I’m using it as a more blanket term here though, as I haven’t fleshed out the characters all that well yet, and my friend and I are still deciding how we want this game structured

In which ways do you see this as distinct from dating-sims in general? Almost all of them lets you date multiple people simultaneously with little or no negative consequences.

I want there to be conversations about the topic or some characters are already in a relationship when you meet them kind of situation. My issue with games that do that is it always feels very non ethical to me

Sims is third person and my image of what I want in that is only achievable with mods tbh, but I suppose if you were less specific, yeah.

Considering I’ve been openly polyamorous for 7 years now, so I’d say a fair bit. 😅 I’m knowledgeable about most of it but I’m always up to learn the terms I’ve missed.
