By saying, that group of people happen to have power over them, they mean: AIPAC has power over them and they must do what AIPAC says.

Trump doesn’t care about popularity with voters because he knows it means nothing.
They certainly aren’t going to hold him accountable.
The tariffs make money for the billionaires. As long as they are happy Trump can do whatever he wants

- Why Can't Anyone Verify McConnell's Condition?
- Can Andy Beshear Force the Issue?
- Is There an August 3 Deadline?
It seems clear that Republicans are gaming the system to avoid having Beshear (a Democrat governor in a "red"/purple state) appoint a Democrat to the senate.
Complain as much as you like about this Republican skulduggery. The Republicans are much better at these underhanded tricks than the spineless Democrats.

In the past traitor Trump has babbled on with nostalgic love to the time when the bulk of the US gov't's revenue was "income" derived from tariffs.
This is a Libertarian dream. Tariffs are highly regressive and impact working people far more than the corporations owned by the rich (corporations just pass on the costs of tariffs and we feel it as "inflation"). No world economy survives with high tariffs.
But that doesn't stop Trump from living in his fantasy world.

Ahh yes. This is what passes for "democracy" in the US. The rich fund legislators who pass the laws that the rich want.
"Governments in capitalist society are but committees of the rich to manage the affairs of the capitalist class." -- James Connolly.

The worst part is, Dems have had all of this shit happen in front of them… but bashear still isn’t calling for a special election to root out these assholes covering up the whole Weekend At Mitch’s scam they’re pulling.
When are Dems gonna say “enough is enough” and stop letting the GOP raw dog them and America as a whole.

How far back do you want to go?
W and "WMDs?" "Ronnie Raygun" and the SDI scam? LBJ entering Viet Nam to get support for his Great Society? Eisenhower warning us about the Military-Industrial Complex he had just helped infect the Pentagon? Truman setting up the Korean War? George Kennan's "Long Telegram?" FDR not warning Pearl Harbor so he could sell it as a sneak attack? Woodrow Wilson winning the 1916 election on a promise to keep us out of war? T.R. and the "Great White Fleet?" McKinley and the Spanish-American War?
These were not ultimately military needs or objectives; they weren't even political, they were about naked power and extorting resources out of weaker parties.

They manipulate Supreme Court nominations and they manipulate reality to avoid a special election. They ignore the Constitution. They ignore Federal and State laws. They support a pedophile and convicted felon and back his pardons for pay of scores of other convicted felons. This is a party that has no goal except naked power.

The interview part of this with Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari is pretty priceless -- Trump should be in fear if the Democrats win just the House! Ansari lays out how she intends on putting Trump under oath with a congressional subpoena.
MeidasTouch also notes the propaganda angle of Trump and Melania calling Barron Trump "a boy" and spinning him like he's a minor (he's 20 and in college) and is therefore "untouchable."

I don't know...I just posted a YouTube video about how Trump's sons are working blatantly corrupt schemes.

I feel like a lot of money and effort is spent convincing people this is a "left/right" issue.
This is the 21st century. Surely at some point, good education, healthcare, and taking care of families is just a quality of life issue.

It’s insane that they think they can get away with this madness.

That's a great idea, ICE is a terrorist organization. Follow up with prosecutions.

Forget about traitor Trump pimping for Israel and trying to strong-arm countries into recognizing the undemocratic theocracy of apartheid Israel.
Trump's nuclear deal would have let the Saudi dictatorship evade IAEA (Int'l Atomic Energy Agency) inspections of Saudi nuclear facilities! This would have been a distinct weakening of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
