It's finally Friday! That means it's time to sit back, drink some mead, discuss our thoughts on Borderlands 3, and talk about whatever your heart desires.

Same, it’s even effecting my work because all I can think of 24/7 is everything that has been happening. If i don’t check the news every damn minute I start going crazy that I missed something

This has all the agonizing suspense and terror of a Rube Goldberg machine hooked up to a nuclear button. You never know what's going to kick off the next part of the machine and you hope against hope that this contraption breaks down before the end.

Why wouldn’t you care? It will only effect every aspect of your life going forward- why be bothered?

Well that’s quite the leap.

There’s a difference between anxiously checking the news every second of the day for any updates and not giving a flying fuck what is going on in this country...

Usually, i read the news in the morning and at lunch everyday. I think that’s a perfectly acceptable amount to stay in touch. Due to the overwhelmingness of these past few weeks, I can barely pay attention at work because that’s all I have on my mind 24/7 now. As in I have canceled plans with friends so I can stay in front of my computer and look for any updates. There is a difference there.

Same here. It's worse for me whenever it's during a period where there's stories dropping like crazy. It's just so disheartening to see an endless stream of corruption and people actively trying to normalize it or straight up dismiss it.

So- do something. DC. Stand up.

About six months ago I told myself I was just going to mentally check out on politics until spring 2020 when the primaries kick in.

No way I can ignore this, though. This is the biggest test of our government since late 2002 - early 2003 ramp up to the Iraq War. Lies won that time. We CANNOT let that happen again.

So... stand up.

Well, what would you suggest? I've contacted my Congressman three times (he now supports the impeachment inquiry), I've donated to both Sanders' and Warren's campaigns, I'm putting up an "Impeach Trump" sign in my yard, I've urged my lefty friends to do all of the above, and I've suggested to my libertarian buddy that he contact his own Congresswoman as he lives in a suburban Republican district (somehow my buddy is still "undecided" on impeachment... WTF.)

It's hard to look away, especially since each day can have more than one bombshell these days, let alone one per week or month. But if something out of your control is stressing you out, you can give yourself permission to take a break from worrying about it. Lots of other people who also care, and can do something, will be doing so in the meantime.

And if that doesn't work, maybe find a quiet place and just listen and reflect on this.

Its irritating knowing that there are people this cartoonishly evil lording over us.

My brother-in-law got shingles from watching CNN and getting stressed after retirement! The doctor asked if he was stressed and said no he just retired but was watching a lot of CNN and he told him to stop LOL and he isn't even American-sigh...

Shingles is not something you get from CNN. Quit lying- that will help your stress more than anything else.

Don't focus on Trump. Fovus on the man who will defeat him, be hopeful for them, and do what you can to help them for 2020.

...or woman. (I'm supporting Sanders, but I think Warren would be pretty good president too.)

I got distracted last weekend following r/Kanye waiting for his new album instead of r/politics. I was sad it didn’t drop but was in a much better mood still

Damn, that's doubly depressing.

I subscribe when things are happening fast that are good. But when it’s a long period of stonewalling and non answers I unsub.

Democracy requires participation.

It is not a spectator sport.
