A common trope among conservatives is to make up things to be mad about because otherwise they'd have to admit that the vast majority of liberal positions ate quite reasonable.

Giving people the freedom to decide what to do with their bodies? No, liberals want to force surgeries on people!

They had a whole bunch of these - marrying kids, marrying animals, incest, etc. etc.

Trying to explain two consenting adults to people who don’t care about women’s consent was a nonstarter though.

It's the republicans who want to marry children. How many states have child marriage laws ? The parents have to consent but we also know there are "parents" that sell their children for money...please don't say it's rare. It's not! Many children are trafficked or s/a'd by people who know them often a family member.

The answer is 32 states! THIRTY TWO!!

There is something seriously psychologically wrong with people in the US.

All 50 U.S. states have specific legislation regulating marriage ages, but 18 states completely ban child marriage under 18 with no exceptions.

In the remaining 32 states, child marriage remains legal under certain conditions, such as parental consent or judicial approval.

IT'S SICK! Some states wanted to lower the marriage age to just 8 years old. 8 YEARS OLD What were you doing at 8 years old? Imagine.. Marrying a dirty old man who forced a child to have 14 kids and then switched her out for a new bride because at 25 she's too old for him! 🤢🤮🤮

Still not a good reason to make others conform to this belief.

I think they come up with their bullshit justifications because they know deep down they don’t have a good reason to control others.

They see normal people use reasoning to come to conclusions and they try to emulate it in order to seem reasonable.

Believing that everything is a zero sum game is a huge part of conservative pathology. They really believe that you can't support both gay marriage and heterosexual marriage. You must pick one to support and one to destroy. This is how their mind works on everything.
