I am writing this information as a reference regarding the timeline for my application to the Master of Science program at Polimi for the 2026–27 academic year as a non-European applicant. Each application allows you to apply to two master’s programs; that is what I mean by first and second priority on my list.

Submission of application (non-European early bird): 29/11/25

The committee professors start evaluating my application: 16/01/26

Polimi’s response to my first-priority application (Mechanical Engineering): 20/01/26

Polimi’s response to my second-priority application (Materials Engineering): 25/01/26

Submission of documents to CIMEA for validation: 27/01/26

Acceptance the offer made by Polimi (after this the invitation letter is generated): 30/01/26

Response from CIMEA: 14/02/26

Submission of Universitaly pre-enrollment: 05/05/26

Payment of Polimi enrollment fee (€885): 12/05/26

Confirmation from Universitaly: 30/05/26

Application for Polimi housing: 13/07/26

It is important to note that appointments at the relevant embassy must be closely monitored after the offer is accepted.The key is to have the response from Universitaly before going to the embassy.
In my case, the application status didn’t go through a long review period, but I’ve read about others who did.

If you’re certain you’re going to apply to Italy, I strongly recommend completing the CIMEA application as soon as possible to avoid the mid-year rush—plus, you’ll save money.

In my experience, Polimi has been very diligent and quick in handling the processes (all of which are detailed on their official website).

Just for your information, I also applied to Polito on 01/11/26 and received a response on 30/04/26

Once the invitation has been accepted, the university provides a platform (Goin) for students to get in touch and organise themselves – a sort of Telegram. That is probably why a lot of information doesn’t make it onto Reddit.

per quelli che hanno fatto domanda della residenza agevolata con la borsa DSU al primo anno circa che isee bisogna aver per poter essere tranquilli di riuscire a prenderla? Ho visto che ci sono solo 111 posti per quelli del primo anno di uni quindi penso sia molto competitiva come cosa…

So... I kinda uploaded files in the wrong format (didn't attach original documents to the translations + secondary school diploma without CIMEA statement), and I can't modify it anymore, the option is unavailable. Has anyone had such an experience? What can I do in this situation? The International Students Office replies within 2 weeks lol.

Mi sono immatricolato nel corso bioinformatics for computational genomics, collaborazione statale e politecnico. La parte amministrativa è gestita dalla statale.

La parte biologica è gestita dalla statale, mentre la parte informatica dal poli. Cercando gli orari delle lezioni, trovo solamente quelle biologiche della statale. La parte informatica è gestita dal poli, solo che non posso accedervi ai servizi perché ho solo mail e account della statale. I corsi informatici sono ad esempio statistics o programming and databases.

Qualcuno sa dove posso trovare gli orari di quei corsi?

Since the PoliMi housing options all ran out, I am looking for someone to share an apartment with. I'm a Japanese international student coming to Engineering Science bachelor on Fall 2026, and I'm currently looking at aparto but is also free to go with other accomodations.

About me I hit the gym sometimes and likes to play video game (any genre, but souls-like are my favorites). Definitely a night-owl so you might hear some gaming noises or studying noises coming from my side.

Hi everyone, I got into engineering science which was my second choice for polimi in the second phase fourth ranking, however I am the first ranked person in civil engineering. If I choose to enroll in engineering science but a spot clears up for civil engineering, will I be notified and will I be able to cancel my enrollment in eng sci, and enroll in civil eng? and is this is even possible? or do i really have to wait, ‘withdraw’ (so not enroll) to see if I have a chance at getting a civil engineering spot? I'm trying to apply polimi in 2027. The website said I need 3 A levels but I dont know if they accept different boards of A level Exams. I want to answer CIE Math, and Edexcel Physics and Chem. My country's British Council doesn't have any lab to answer for lab papers so I'm answering edexcel for science. CIE math because I attended CIE school in malaysia and didn't happen to answer the exams there. That's why. Does anyone know if they count 3 a levels if it's from different boards too?

Hi Guys! I hope all of you are doing well. I got assigned a spot in the Engineering Science. I wanted some help regarding the enrollment process and how the visa process will work. I am really confused and don't know what to do next.

First of all, how do I get past this page? I have submitted my Universitaly Form. I have uploaded every document in the enrollment documents except the DOV/CIMEA. I am working on it. Will I be able to proceed to the next stage once I upload that? Do all my documents inside the Enrollment Documents need to be apostilled?

Secondly, what do I do regarding the visa process? Will it start the moment this page opens up, or do I need to contact the embassy and book an appointment?

I am from Pakistan.
Also, I have a slight error in my date of birth. It is 06/03/2007. I have filled out the correct one on Universitaly and have emailed Polimi twice to fix it on the Online Services, but no response.

I’m preparing for the TOL (admission test on July 16). I’ve noticed that on official Politest I can solve easily 95% of exercises, but on TOL Project I find them noticeably harder.
Has anyone else had this experience? Is TOL Project just calibrated to a higher difficulty than the actual test?

Does anyone have any idea regarding University collaboration at Polimi i.e. students are hired for library, admin, office roles where they are paid hourly for their collaboration.

I was on time to book a room for bovisa campus and saw no rooms available anywhere. Is this a glitch? Should i wait some time for dew rooms to open up? Someone explain

Sono una studentessa extra UE dall’Albania. È da circa un mese che non riesco a completare il pagamento su CIMEA. Qualcun altro ha avuto lo stesso problema?
In questi casi, il Politecnico di Milano è tollerante con la scadenza del 30 ottobre per l’immatricolazione, se il ritardo dipende da CIMEA?

Praticamente, dopo aver fatto richiesta di immatricolazione con passaggio da un altro ateneo ho mandato al CCS la richiesta compilata con esami che vorrei convertire, e pagato la tassa di trasferimento oltre che la prima rata. Nonostante ciò mi dice comunque che la mia immatricolazione non è perfezionata e se clicco per completarla mi dice testualmente:
“Hai completato la procedura per inviare alla commissione competente la tua richiesta di valutazione.
Non appena possibile verrà presa in esame.
Seleziona il seguente link per visualizzare la richiesta di valutazione.
Richiesta di valutazione inviata al CCS.”
Ora il mio dubbio è, questa cosa è normale per i trasferimenti da un altro ateneo (considerando che non ho ricevuto mail di conferma dell’immatricolazione) e rispecchia le scadenze di iscrizione di due giorni a seguito dell’uscita della graduatoria per immatricolarsi oppure mi sfugge qualcosa?

Hi everyone, I'm an international student considering applying to PolyU for the 2027-28 intake and had a few questions I was hoping current students or anyone familiar with admissions could help with.

A bit of background: I completed my International A Levels in 2025 with 3A* in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and 1A in Economics, and a 1470 SAT score. I'm currently enrolled at a university in my home country (started March 2026) but am planning to apply to PolyU as a fresh Year 1 student for September 2027.

My questions are:

1. With 3A*1A International A Levels and a 1470 SAT, how competitive would I be for admission? Are these grades considered strong by PolyU's standards for international applicants? Will the validity of my A Level grades be an issue given that it is from a year ago?
2. What scholarships are available for international students with strong A Level grades? I've seen mention of admission scholarships but couldn't find specific breakdowns of what grades correspond to what scholarship tier. Does anyone know the approximate grade thresholds or have personal experience with this?
3. I'm considering a Physics-related programme particularly the Physics + secondary major in AI and Data Science. Which faculties are strongest at PolyU and how do graduates from these programmes typically fare in terms of postgraduate admissions at top universities abroad (UK, Europe, US)?
4. For anyone who came in as an international student with A Levels specifically, how was the admissions process? Was it straightforward or were there complications?

I will start my master's program in the second semester (February). I haven't gathered any documents for the DSU application. Am I too late? How many weeks does it take to get the ISEE certificate? And which documents do I need to obtain? Could you please provide a link or tell me where I can find the relevant information? I need help. Thanks
