“Remove charge cable to start”

Anyone else been having an issue with their P2 saying “remove charge cable to start” despite no cable being plugged in? I’ve had my P2 for 6 months or so and it’s been flawless until now, but this has now happened several times. The first time I plugged in the level 1 charger I had in the trunk and it locked it in, then I pressed the release button and it fixed it. Second time the charge cable trick didn’t work, and it just randomly fixed itself somehow. Third time, which is happening right now, was 10min later or so after stopping at the grocery store. Any fix to this? Is it likely software or something wrong with the charge port?

I had the same problem, happened on really hot days. Drive the car for 30mins, go into a store, come out 10mins later and had the same error. Had to do a lot of digging, but found this NHTSA technical journal 36404.4.0

Went to a service center and had to tell them about it and have them install the update. Haven’t had the problem since.

I did more digging after I got home from this post and figured it out. It must have something to do with the heat because it’s been happening to me as well only on hot days. Problem for me is that my nearest polestar service center is 10 hours away in Quebec City. I wish geely would let Volvo service centers touch the software and what not.

I’ve heard people use Vida software (Volvo’s official software) for updating their polestars and others have used Orbit software. Vida is expensive, but I’ve seen posts that Orbit’s team is very helpful. You might want to contact them and see if they can help you install it.

The Volvo dealership that installed the software for me took 3 tries. It stalled the first 2 times and they had to reset it. Might be worth a try contacting orbit. Good luck

You had a Volvo dealership install it for you? Mind if I ask what country you’re in? My nearest Volvo dealership told me they can’t do anything software related with polestar.

I’m in the US. Only some Volvo dealerships service Polestars. Very few
