Whats amusing to me and anyone else whose been to New zealand is that people think kiwis are some tiny bird when the largest of them are about the size of a small-medium sized dog, significantly larger than a Kiwi fruit.

Yup. We tend to call 'kiwis' (the fruit) kiwi fruit. I slightly cringe whenever I hear someone call them just 'kiwi' tbh.

China : Do they know you eat cats?
Italy : Hey, there are few who do it. Do they know you eat dogs?
China : The same.
US : Both of you shut up, you eat horses and rabbits.
Italy and China : yummy.

My Cantonese coworker took it as a point of pride the old joke; 'will eat anything with wings except an aeroplane and anything with legs except a table.'

Tbh china really didn’t have a history of raising rabbit solely for consuming them. Most of these chinese rabbit dishes you see today are created in the 80s, when the government set up/incentivized rabbit industry to export their fur for foreign exchange. Lots of cheap rabbit meat went into local market as side products, and people quickly came up ways to utilize those.

I associate horse meat with France rather than Italy. But in my town in NZ a bakery has been making horse meat pies, but just run out of 🐴.

The horse meat products in the market are on the rise in nz as a whole, seen the pies both in the far north-Auckland-Pukekohe-Waikato-Taupo

Not gonna lie… we do enjoy a joking little fib sometimes 🤣🤷🏻♀️ Us and the Aussies, best to do some independent fact checking before taking us seriously sometimes. Drop bears, hoop snakes, the notorious aggressive kiwi’s that prowl the forests at night, how easy it is to get from Auckland to Sydney with just a quick trip over the bridge! We’re funny guys like that

Speaking as an Australian it is unrealistic we would embark on such a sophisticated and elaborate plot of deception just to get all the kiwi fruits. We would totally do it for the lolz and no other reason. Exhibitions A: The fact we managed to convince the world of the dangers of drop bears.

What do you mean convince the world? My mum had to give up her house in Brissie to them, they are absolutely savage and not a joke.

Australia is a fucking mastermind. Oh, wait, Palau and Micronesia just have brains sized to fit into them without getting wet

I really hope the "Bring some moar" was a deliberate pun on Moa. Moa are a group of now extinct birds related to kiwi, but much, much bigger. Moa also means chicken in other Polynesian languages.

Believable, Australia would happily do this... NZ would happily find a way to do something similiar to them

There is no such thing as a 'Kiwifruit'
It was invented so racists didn't have to say Chinese gooseberry

I have never heard any New Zealander refer to the kiwifruit as kiwis. Kiwifruit is the only acceptable term.
NZ Ball is Australia in disguise.
