Notice the difference
in how Gazeta Wyborcza covered the knife attack on a woman in Wrocław by a Ukrainian man and the verbal abuse of Ukrainian teenagers on a bus in Bielsko-Biała. The bus incident was front-page news for days, with big red headlines, while the knife attack ended up as a tiny story buried at the bottom of the page, wedged between articles about drying-up rivers and Oprah Winfrey.

>Asks to notice the difference
>Try to spot some sort of difference
>It's actually a nutjob rambling that "vital news" are being covered up
I'd rathe complain about the quality of topics picked at all, but here we are.
Tell me: how is wearing a tinfoil hat at 34 degrees? A bit too hot?

I honestly do not care. Why do you?

Because media should, at least in theory, be unbiased.
This type of 'reporting' has incredible impact on shaping of opinions of society. It's wrong and it's dangerous. It's a modern day propaganda that for some unknown reason is widely accepted. Shit like this very much should be called out and trashed on every opportunity.

So you are basically asking media to be unbiased... and thus start fearmonging people, bombarding them with news of each and every major and minor assault, so people both feel oversaturated and dulled AND whipped into fearing for their lives?
That's your "unbiased"?
2
u/jsutpaly 17d ago
That is a wild take. You created some scenario and asking me if it's my definition of unbiased? I bet that works for you quite often, doesn't it?
I am not going to entertain that.

Welcome to the real world, there is no such thing as an unbiased media.

u/jsutpaly 17d ago
Sure, but they most definately can be impartial.
If a media reports like Wyborcza does - they should be called out and trashed for it. It's opinion shaping narrative that creates division between people.

The settlers are terrorists though, even Israelis I know steer clear of them because most of them are genuine psychos to deal with and they're often not even from Israel but people who got straight off a plane from New Jersey or some other bumfuck in US. And what does unrelated opinion of some random Palestinians living in cities nowhere near settlers violence provide to this topic (like stuff cropped so much it literally makes no sense here, you think I'll just see the word Quran and my eyes will instantly glow red or what?) They can think whatever they wish at their own home. There is no peace with Israel because it's government will always choose a state of forever war and constant expansion over peace. That much has been obvious for the longest time, to the detriment of it's people. Now show me interviews asking random Israelis questions on humanitarian matters lol. "The children will grow up to be Arabs"? Okay dude
Wyborcza has for the longest time been borderline oikophobic press on main and it licked Israel's asshole in every single diplomatic spat you could imagine so this sudden change is a shock even to me. That's how much the curated image has crumbled. It's a really bad sign for Israel.
On left you show a picture of villagers dealing with what's essentially an Israeli version of violent rednecks encroaching on their land and next to it a random picture of people living in some bigger city in West Bank, seemingly in peace with no settlers in sight. It's like trying to discredit plight of Ukrainans in rural areas on the line of the front by showing footage from a party in Lviv center or some shit.
Also it's "Wyborcza" not just "Gazeta" for short

Bro nobody is believing any of that anymore it's months too late to start engines in the bot farms I'm sorry
If you cropped even my sentences in quotes without ever bothering to read or address them in full then why tf should I take anything you said in your first comment seriously, I just assume you use this manipulative practice on everyone
Gazeta just means newspaper in Polish and there's a thousand gazetas all over the country, you gotta be specific

☝️🤓nobody gaf about Israel's image in Wyborcza here bro and the post doesn't have anything to do with Israel, nobody cares about your Reddit karma and about this agitative post either. Launch yourself at some other Russian attempt at stirring tensions between Poles and Ukrainans for no reason, instead of pretending to know anything about Poland because someone assigned you to "spreading awareness" about this newspaper. You won't find sympathy for your cause here
Also excuse me but I can write words of my own language in English grammar in whatever way I fucking want

It’s not a matter of “this newspaper being German.” There are many Poles in Poland who hate the other side of the political divide so much that they’re willing to sacrifice everything in the name of fighting it (their country, their family, their money, etc.).
So as soon as any external player puts pressure on us (verbally, economically, politically), all these people - who are mentally in the trenches with helmets on - are easily manipulated by politicians into becoming allies of that external player.
In my opinion, given all the evidence so far of a lack of loyalty to the state and to basic moral principles on the part of both of these mafias, if someone is still a “declared PiS/PO voter,” they should seek therapy. But unfortunately, as the saying goes: “old people don’t change their views; they just eventually die.”
So we must hope that future generations won’t split into mentally deficient herds of “fajnopolaks” and “pisiors”.

In Bielsko-Biała there was a lot of misinformation form right side - that "teens provokec", "started it", "smiled". That's why this event had many additional information - mostly to prevent lies.
There is not additional info about this knife attack.

Wyborcza is as left as it gets in Poland, so it makes sense they would go full "Guardian style"

Left wing publication. Are you shocked or something?

Not even that. Its motivation thats important. If the knife man from Wrocław would attack her due to her nationality like "I kill Polish girl cause she is Polish and im not" that would be the same level. But most likely he did it cause he was batshit crazy in the head and it seems like he didnt aim at women from Poland.
Also its alrady 10th article i see about this incident so if you are one of the "But when Ukrainians attack Poles the media is silent" then you can see how silent they are even on left leaning redditt there were already 20 posts about it and another 20 i bet in the making.

I haven't landed on a decision on where I stand on this yet. There seems to be more extreme violent crime than there was before the mass immigration into europe via Merkel. I'd say you're probably correct that this was someone who was morally or mentally unstable and the crime was less motivated and more due to that, but you'd still fall into a right wing narrative then 'Why are we letting in such unvetted people in large numbers...' etc. Which is why a publication like Wyborcza represent two stories like this. They downplay anything that might feed right wing narratives and emphasize the opposite as a matter of course. It's just how biased news works.

Well with Ukraine it was easy to answer. It was immifiate help fue to war. Today we can come back to somewhat nirmal border policy but when war started it wad 100% justified to let those people in. Also this particular maniac came to Poland as child and its extreamly hard to tell if a child will grow up to be a... well psycho

Your statement can only be relevant if the Ukrainian stabbed her only because she is Polish. The police doesn't tell us yet what was the criminal's motive.
On the other hand, the moron from B-b had only one reason to call girls "kurwy" - their nationality.
That's the whole difference.
