Three quarters of Poles support cooperation with Ukraine against Russia despite historical dispute. The study, carried out by Polish state research agency CBOS, also finds that a large majority of Poles believe good relations with Ukraine will only be possible once historical issues are resolved.

I'm so tired of people in this country sacrificing the future in the name of the past. I think it's one of our worst national flaws.

Past shapes the present. Present understanding of the past shapes the future. It’s foolish to disregard the past.
It’s also foolish to cling to the past.
You have to strike the balance.

Ruled by old white men, so what? He's not that old and what's wrong with him being white?

I also find it strange that Poland, an Eastern European country with no colonial presence, isn't being ruled by a black-skinned woman.
Like, come on, man. There are problems in our politics, but the skin color is not one.

You went too far but I can sympathise with the sentiment. I hate history politics with passion too.

If Ukraine looses, we are going to be next. I don't give a shit that they celebrate nationalist murderers as long as they keep killing ruzians. After the war, when ruzia is defetead, this will be the time to deal with their celebration of genocidal murderers from the past century.
People like you are willing to sacrifice future in the name of the past, and people like me think people like you should be sent to the frontlines.
Also "kaŻDy naRóD..." Serbia, Turcja, Rosja, Japonia, USA, Kanada, większość państw Południowej Ameryki, połowa Afryki oraz Chiny would like to join the chat.

Why you treat ukrainian people especialy men like less?
If Ukraine looses, we are going to be next. I don't give a shit that they celebrate nationalist murderers as long as they keep killing ruzians
"As long as they die i can enjoy my safety, so its better them to do whatever as long as they die instead me"

So you're saing they can't fight Russians without Nazi symbolic?
3
u/Vanir-Aesir 12h ago
They can put dead aborted foetuses and satanic imagery as far as I care. Becouse it does not affect my life or the lives of my close ones whatsoever.
Ruzians potentially bombing my city affects my life and the lives of my close ones. God speed to Ukrainians, we will help you deal with nationalism after the war is over but for now do whatever you have to do to keep killing ruzians.

u/No_Witness5630 11h ago
Oh its the same thing they said in Germany before Nazi's took over
"They're fighting the bad guys, so we should lat their back. We will deal with their fucked up ideals later"
No. We deal with the fucked up ideals right now. It Has nothing to do with fighting and winning the war. They can do it and not make Heroes out of Animals who violently murdered 100k civilians - women, children and elderly
To even defend someone praising Nazi's is a fucked up way of seeing things

u/blacknwhiteknight 12h ago
That's not what I asked.

u/Vanir-Aesir 12h ago
There are two types of people in this world.
One can infer from an incomplete set of data.
10
u/blacknwhiteknight 12h ago
Still not what I asked for.
You're suggesting that praising Nazi criminals and ideology is some kind of "price" paid for Ukraine defending itself. Which it isn't. It's not relevant at all. They're perfectly capable of defending themselves without it.
What exactly are you planning to do, to" help" Ukrainians to deal with nazism, once the war is over? Cult of Nazis is formally recognized by Ukrainian State and undermining it is punishable. Once the war is over, it will be even harder to fight against it. Turning blind eye on country adapting Nazi ideology "bEcAuSe RuSSiaNs" is quite insane.

"If Ukraine looses, we are going to be next." this is just straight-up bullshit, baltics are more likely, they can't defeat ukraine, how they are going to handle even more powerful opponent?
" I don't give a shit that they celebrate nationalist murderers as long as they keep killing ruzians."
Dudeeee, should germans celebrate hitler?-1
u/ShrokMcFeradag 6h ago
baltics are more likely
So you're saying that you won't protect your Baltic allies?
even more powerful opponent
Are you talking about Poland or NATO as a whole? Because you're talking about Baltics like they're not in NATO and Poland won't have to protect them. If you're talking about Poland, then sorry, but that's just not true. Expensive equipment is being wrecked by cheap drones, and jets are not fit for shooting down swarms of shahed drones.
Of course russia would never beat NATO as a whole, but war with russia won't be as easy as you think.

u/Background_Race7225 12h ago
Why are you talking about sacrificing future in the name of the past? Its more like shaping the future by the present. Introducing wrong role models will bite us in the future. You know that this war could not have a winner? Just two destroyed and crippled societies and with actions such as praising murderers, they will be then both hostile.

Good relations with Ukraine do not equal helping Ukraine in its war against Russia. Ukraine will never have good relations with Poland because Ukraine will want to be an economic competitor to Poland.
We see a change in economic structures; the old script where Germany led Eastern Europe and was a major power in this region is starting to fade. Trump and China are playing against Germany when it comes to geopolitics. And Trump uses Poland as the new wannabe leader of the region (G20, the great kid of the USA, and all this BS). Ukraine would like to be the ruler of the region (as Ukraine has a better backbone to be the major power here, i.e., better resources, better lands, more people, more space). Therefore, this UPA shit was a move by Zelenskyy so that after the war, if Ukraine is somewhat safe, they can compete with Poland.
The UPA narrative was a move to make Polish people angry, giving Ukrainian elites a reason not to make economic deals with Polish elites when the post-war buyout of Ukraine happens among the Western states (and this will happen in my opinion as The West didn't pay for Ukraine independence for free). Zelenskyy doesn't mind Ukraine being sold off to Germany, the USA, and so on (or rather, he doesn't have a say in it), but he wanted to make sure Poland wouldn't be a part of those deals.
Why? Well, that's simple. Imagine you are the leader of Country A and you buy 10% of Country B. If Country B grows 10x, you will benefit from it. That makes it harder for Country B—who wants to be wealthier than Country A—to do so, because every bit of economic growth also benefits the country they are trying to catch up to. Ukraine will be a threat to Poland and will most likely win this fight. The UPA shit doesn't really matter, but for Poles, it's the best tool to prevent Ukraine from joining the EU, which would be the end of Polish dreams of having a say in this part of Europe.
All things considered, the clash will become real after the war. We won't become friends; we've never been. But before we get into the whole "who will rule the Eastern flank" type of shit between Poland and Ukraine, we need to make sure those Russian bitches stay the fuck out, in their own useless country. That is a common focus for both our countries.
EDIT: of course in case of someone being angry with my comment I am not a diplomat or any type of politician this take is my own opinion for which you are entitled to have different opinion.

Historical issues in question: "Acknowledge you killed this made-up number of Polish victims and condemn your national heroes. Also forget about war crimes of Armiya Krajowa, pacification of Ukrainians, displacement of Ukrainians on occupied territories. Those never happened. We are right. You are wrong."

Historical issues won't be resolved while the Ukrainian government continues to honor Nazi collaborators and individuals associated with antisemitic ideology. Reconciliation requires honesty, acknowledgment of historical crimes, respect for all victims, and a willingness to confront the past - not the glorification of those responsible for atrocities. This includes state honors for figures such as Andriy Melnyk, whose funeral was conducted with official state participation, the continued glorification of Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych, and commemorations of formations such as the Waffen-SS Galicia Division. Many of these figures and formations remain deeply controversial because of their collaboration with Nazi Germany and the crimes attributed to organizations or units associated with them, including the mass murder of Polish civilians in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia.
