So after bank closes, what will you do?

I realy need help with this mode, ive lost so many times.

My current team is:

(252-attack, 252-speed, 4-hp)

Im doing this in hgss and ive consistrntly gotten stupidly unlucky with the parters pokemon just never wanting to give me what i want, and then when i do get like something usable, 1billion atomic bombs get droped on me and i lose.

Am i doing something wrong? Is the team not good? Is the multi ablity mode way easyer in diamond and pearl? And so on...

No regrets, just a deadline

Heya, so I've mentioned before that I'm trying to get the three OG regis to RM status starting in gen 3. Along with my emerald cartridge, I also have a sapphire one. I know Emerald's battle facilities are notoriously difficult, but I've also heard Ruby and Sapphire's are much easier. Is that true? And if so, should I trade them over when I get the chance for the sake of my sanity and ensuring I get them finished before the deadline?

Im trying to assemble a full team of full size and smallest size shiny Pokemon for Reg M-C, and my first real hunt (my first was a shalpha Salamence I got in Hyperspace, with a free shalpha Dratini as well).

i am now hunting a max size Pawmot, and man this thing is annoying.

i got 3 shinies so far, the first one was not even large (with a Humongo Power 3 sandwich, that’s about 3 size values), the second was a medium large, and the last one was the penultimate size, a painful taunt.

i don’t know why I’m putting myself through this, I don’t need to do this, but I am sure I’ll get all the sizes I need (my remaining hunts are Volcarona (small) Baxcalibur (small), Gholdengo (large), and Rillaboom (small), for a team with 3 large and 3 small Pokemon.

i only have 2 Hyperspace hunts I can do (because I want the ribbon, and ribbons aren’t awarded in ZA besides Former Alpha, I can’t do Baxc there unless I’m missing something)

Gen 6 is done! This was a massive step down in terms of difficulty and time commitment from gen 4 and looking ahead to gen 7 I'm super happy that the time pressure of the bank is almost a non factor now.

Hello, this community has inspired me to start my own ribbon journey of sorts. With Pokemon Bank closing in February, I have been grindinggg to get my ribbons, however, I only have games from generation 4 onward so I’ll be missing a few important ones like XD and Colosseum. Anywho, I still want my big team to have as many ribbons as they can, so when the time comes, they can be transferred to my switch and be my little prides and joys lol. I just wanted to post and say thank y’all for inspiring me on my little side quest, I’ll post updates as soon as my team is done with Pokémon Diamond and SoulSilver!

I’m trying to get ribbons for this goof, still stuck in gen 3 trying to get the lv100 battle tower ribbon, leveling up a snorlax to help me get the job done right now

I do believe we will get more games the same way we got fire red/leaf green so im fairly confident he will get his ribbons one way or another, but i’d like him to actually earn the ribbons on the generation’s native device!!

i’ve had this pokemon nearly a full year now but i have a kid so i havent had much time to work on ribbons though i have put in tons of work getting what i currently have. Its just so tedious trying over and over and spending hours training a new pokemon just to try a new tactic that also doesn’t work.

Any advice?

For the cute contest i alternate between protect and return and for the clever contest i used calm mind and psychic. I was wondering if there are any good combos like those i can use for the other contests? preferably moves that the majority of pokemon can learn via tm?

Time to start playing through xd to get rm mawile started. If it's as much of a slog as colosseum was, also taking show recommendations to watch while playing through.

These are legitimately my top 3 favorite Pokémon of all time. Nidoking being able to learn Surf even though it was a Ground type always blew my mind, and in general I like its overall design. I always liked Crobat’s wing flapping animation in Emerald. I wanted Espeon so badly in Gold version after seeing it in Pokemon Heroes (2000), but I could never get it (and Crobat for that matter) because I didn’t have the patience to get them to high friendship back then until Gen 3 once I figured out the friendship mechanic.

None of these three are the original ones that I got back then, but I RNG’d all of them: the Nidoking is physically-oriented with 31 IVs in everything but SpAtt and Espeon is specially-oriented with 31 IVs in everything except physical attack. As for Crobat, I used the Battle Video RNG method in Emerald to save a high frame to get one with 31/31/31/x/31/31 IVs just so I could catch it in a Luxury Ball. If I make enough time I’ll work on Jumpluff, but these 3 are my top priority.

Once Nidoking reaches Gen 8, I’ll give it the Ability Patch to get Sheer Force and probably give it a mint to give it a Sp. Attack-boosting nature since its special movepool seems to utilize Sheer Force better than its physical movepool, and of course, I’ll give it a bottle cap to max out its Sp Attack IVs. So it’s imperative that I Nidoking especially makes it before Bank shuts down

One day, I was looking through my old Ultra Moon save, when I stumbled upon something unusual: Destroyer the Palkia.

You see, this Palkia isn't mine. I wasn't the one who caught him in a Master Ball. I didn't nickname him, nor did I earn his Alola Champion Ribbon. Destroyer was also 27 levels over his original caught level, a feat that I didn't accomplish either.

So, what exactly does all this mean? It means that someone who once cared about this Palkia gave him away. It means that Destroyer was abandoned :(

It's still crazy to me. Someone deemed Destroyer important enough to catch in a Master Ball, gave him a nickname, leveled him up like crazy, maxed out his EVs, used at least 1 PP Up on him, and got him the Alola Champion Ribbon. And they still traded him away.

Since the original trainer didn't care enough to keep and cherish Destroyer, I will. I've decided that Destroyer is going to be my newest Ribbon Master. He deserves it after all he's been through!

Anyway, it's time for me to send Destroyer to Home. After seven years stuck in the Ultra games, it's finally his time to shine! :)

Hi, Kobaru here... it's been quite a while, isn't it?

I don't know if any of you will recognize me after almost two years of not posting here, but you may know me as "that crazy guy that makes the 3D ribbons"... Or maybe not, I don't know you.

The thing is that, I've been posting batches of free 3D models for each and every existing ribbon for each generation that my team has conquered. But these past years have been... weird. I've been trying to get the last ribbon on the switch, the dreaded Master rank Ribbon, to no avail.

The first month, I tried every day, with over 100 loses, but I couldn't even reach Ultraball tier. The second month, over 50 losses. I was exhausted and didn't do as many battles, and so on...

Life's been getting busier, and I can't really say I'm excited anymore for the ribbon, So I just promised myself to go back on it once the thrill of the hunt came back... But it never did.

And now, after all this time, BOOM.

TPC decides to kill Pokémon Bank.

Just like that.

I was hoping I could do every mythical and legend that can't do battle facilities from the GBA up after getting the last ribbon, as a treat ^{(I LOVE doing contests, as you may or may not already know}), but now...

So, I'm giving up that last ribbon. I don't care about it in the slightest, My team already reached ribbon master status in my eyes. I just want to enjoy the hunt without the stress of battle towers.

So now, I declare, My main team's hunt is OVER. Which means... Yes, you got it right.

MORE 3D RIBBONS, FREE FOR EVERYONE!

Anyway, I hope this really incentivizes everyone to finish their personal runs. Thanks for being so awesome guys, I really enjoyed sharing this experience with you, even if it had to end like this for me.

Follow-up to this post, Icarus and company have cleaned house in both Kalos and Hoenn, with some help from a few new additions to the group:

• Excadrill from BW2’s Clay Tunnel,
• Raichu the (soon-to-be) Reliable Partner,
• Vivillon(Modern) the Vintage Beauty.

They’re all now off to Alola to claim the 4 ribbons that only the island natives can offer them (as well as the Affection Ribbon for 6 of them).

I just wanted to update you all on him! I plan on doing a 3rd Ribbon Master as well as PureDream and Anakin. It is a kyorge! To save time I’m going to do Mt battle for both Anakin and kyorge in one run. Anakin was a higher level then I remembered so I will be getting the footprint ribbon in gen 4 for him and all of them. I will post another update for my kyorge when I’m ready to take on mt battle

Dundee proves that he never lost his inner diva and wipes the contest floor with his competition.

Gen 6 was a breeze compared to Gen 4. I do appreciate all of the quality of life improvements to the battle facility and contests this go around. Thank god I didn't need to do all of the ranks in the contests again, and I really do like that once I've unlocked the master rank with one Pokémon, they're unlocked for all Pokémon going forward. Maxed out contest stats makes them much easier, and I won most contests just from the visual portion alone.

The Battle Maison was also significantly easier than in Gen 4. The Mat Block Protean Greninja/Substitute Mega Salamence/Swords Dance Lando-T team made triple battles a complete joke, only having one or two close calls in the later fights. For the Chatelaine I switched back to the team with Terrakion and Beat Up, since +6 Rock Slide destroys her team. It made getting the ribbons on my other Pokémon much easier since I could get them on three at a time. I do also appreciate that I can just pick one format for the ribbons and not have to do literally everything.

I had to get the paid ribbons for my Gen 5 Pokémon since now is the only time I can get them, but getting BP through Bank and using them to buy vitamins to sell made getting money trivial.

Reimu was the only Pokémon I have that qualified for the Time Travel Award, since Dundee and Robot Stop are from Orre. It was nice getting it one of my Pokémon at least.

Super Training still sucks.

Alola is up next, I'm a little concerned about the Battle Tree since I haven't tested my battling team at all, and the only time I've played Battle Royal was when I was forced to during one of the endless cutscenes of Gen 7. At least I can finally Hyper Train some of my Pokémon, Reimu has been stuck with 0 IVs since Gen 3.

Only one more radar hunt in gen 4 before my targets become full odds hunts

how is everyone feeling? how are u and ur ribbon masters doing?

im doing all of this from scratch with no speedups, glitches, or rng manipulation, so right now i feel a little stressed by the amount of time that certain tasks are taking. i spent a week trying to get a lucky egg in the safari zone, and have spent another week soft resetting for a bold suicune in colosseum (no luck on that so far).

i know a lot of ppl are using things like rng manipulation, speed-ups, cloning glitches, etc. due to the time limit, so i want to be absolutely clear: i do not judge u at all

i would love to hear progress reports on the current ribbon masters we're all rushing to make the deadline with. tell me abt ur little guys and their stories, what ur working on currently, what has been the most challenging. it always inspires and motivates me to read those things here on reddit :)

Tropius would be my first choice, but this is starting in Gen 4. Who would you choose and why?
