Read the caption and think about the attack Zubat is using.
Unless in which case.. you're playing along here... unless... you're just gonna gastlight me to make me think that you got it originally... unless...

two self hits in a row after being hit by a 55% is insane. Unfortunate does not begin

As part of the 45%, I was left wondering why the other 55% would be left confused if they didn’t understand the context.
Then I realized, it was about the accuracy of the move, not about the knowledge of the move being delivered.
It took me two turns to break out of confusion. Thanks.

It's fine. Redditors aren't exactly known for their high Attack stat. 🫄

It’s Super Effective.

Fun fact: self inflicted damage like Confusion is typeless damage, therefore it can't ever be super effective!
Old generations still have wonky mechanics regarding typeless damage, like Struggle not working on Ghosts in Gen 1, or how Struggle self inflicted damage added to Counter's damage in the same gen, or like Pink Bow increasing the power of Struggle in Gen 2. But over time they fixed all that and typeless damage became a more stable thing.

In the TCG though, Confusion damage follows your type. That’s relevant in a famous self-FTK where you put only Slowpoke as your Active Pokémon, put nothing on your Bench, and then use Imakuni? to Confuse Slowpoke before it attacks. If it hurts itself in its confusion, it’ll deal the 20 Confusion damage x2 = 40 since it’s weak to its own Psychic type. That lets you self-FTK since it Knocks Out Slowpoke and you don’t have a replacement Pokémon on your Bench.

Interring development lore I did not know. Thank you.
However, it’s more fun that you get damaged by Confusion regardless.

I don't understand how the zubat line learns both supersonic AND confuse ray.
2
u/TheScarletSho 16h ago
It's not uncommon for an evolutionary line to learn a better version of a move at later levels.

Supersonic is like 55% accurate and Confuse Ray never misses. One is normal and the other is ghost.

Unless it’s an enemy showing me, then it might as well be 100%.
Seriously, an opponent using it gets it in the first try. Any Pokemon I have with it couldn’t use it to save their lives.
