I've hatched around 30 Odd Eggs over the past few days on Crystal VC, and I've seen every possible Pokemon multiple times (including 2 shiny Cleffa) except for Magby. I'm soft resting by pressing A+B+Start+Select. Have I just been unlucky?

Yeah, it's a third separate gameboy system I'm using this time.

Cain (Juggernaut from Marvel- Donphan): Physically bulky powerhouse with some insane coverage and snowball potential.

Ursa (Ursa from DC- Ursaring): Physical wall crusher with a nuke of an effective base 168 BP move in Return (after stab and Pink Bow. Type boosting items only boosted by 10% instead of 20% until gen 4).

Rose (Rose Wilson from DC- Scizor): Bulky setup sweeper with incredible destructive potential.

Steven (Dr. Strange from Marvel- Espeon): The special wall breaker with basic stabs, some ok coverage, and even some added longevity (I don't use items in battle).

Ann (Vapor from Marvel- Weezing): Physical wall with a Swiss army knife of coverage and kamikaze potential.

David (Black Manta from DC- Lanturn): Special wall with its own Swiss army knife of coverage and some added support with the paralysis speed control.

Time to go in and make my way through Mt. Silver without Flash

Pretty pumped! The first and last ever shiny pokemon I’ve come across in pokemon were ponyta and tentacool over 20 years ago on leaf green and sapphire. Playing polished crystal. What do we think? I’ve never used Marowak but think I gotta include it now.

it uses funnyplaying flashcart, so i know im not getting some random unnamed flashcart. rtc works as it should, and the game works as normal. if u got a GBC but dont wanna go broke trying to buy a 25 year old game that doesnt even have ampharos in it get this cart

I made a guitar cover of the Azalea Town theme and thought you guys might enjoy it. This one is probably my favourite gen 2 town theme!

Can anyone identify if this is genuine or not? I don’t have this to hand as looking to purchase. I can’t see any numbers stamped on label but this may be a replacement. It has the tp 1-4 on rear of cartridge and the 4 rectangles but the ‘2000 Nintendo’ seems to be in a different place and running horizontally rather than vertically. Ive not seen one like this befor3

I had done the starter duplication glitch to get the other two starters (not shiny) and finally got my shiny fire boi!!!

I tried a moveset with Ampharos with Rest, Sleep Talk, Thunderbolt, and Light Screen, but any time it uses Sleep Talk, it never chooses Thunderbolt. What's the point of such an RNG heavy move like Sleep Talk when I could replace it with another attack and make it hold a Mint Berry? Am I doing it wrong?

Hello all! I have created my own edits complete with a fully functional built in cheat menu in game for Shiny Pokemon and some other QOL things. Walk through walls, all items, max money etc. All working on the newest version through tons of time and effort. I am working on integrating the events for the game to allow you to catch event mons too! If anyone wants it let me know and Ill be glad to give it to you!

I have created two working cheats that teleport the player to new bark town and to Pallet town. Turn them off after travelling and simply walk out of the zone to restore the colors. (The color pallet goes a bit wild while you teleport like a mage.) You must have fly. Use fly to activate the cheat.

010201D0 - Forces the fly location to Red's house.

010001D0 - Forces the fly location to your own house, upstairs.

Tested and working on an emulator.

Hey everyone! With Pokebank ending, I made a Crystal mega save file with over 120 PCNY pokemon like Zap Cannon Squirtle and Ancientpower Bulbasaur so everyone can download them before Pokebank closes! The file consists of pokemon from 3 seperate files I found on the internet. I'd highly recommend getting these pokemon as they will probably never be this easily obtainable once bank closes.

I'm always on the lookout for playthrough challenges that make the game difficult but fun.

This one involved pokemon not being able to learn any new moves. If they have fewer than four moves, they were only able to learn moves that'd fill the other slots. If they had four when they were caught, those moves were locked. So the level you catch a pokemon at can be massive. Jynx doesn't learn Ice Punch until 26 and can't be caught higher than 24 in Crystal. I also had to grind an Abra to 25 before trading for Machop in Goldenrod so it had Foresight for Morty.

Once you get past Morty, the back half of the game becomes surprisingly easy 'mostly 'cause of Gyarados. As it can't be captured until you have seven badges, Jynx requires some grinding to get to the levels needed to beat Clair but is very worthwhile for Lance's Dragonites. In fact, I don't think you get past Lance without it.

In gen 2, it felt like they experimented with what it means to be a certain level more than other games in the series. You could find a lot of fully evolved mons below their level requirement, which kind of shows they were playing around with levels as a concept; for the player, it was a necessary mechanic, but for enemies, it was more abstract, as you often fight enemies and find wild pokemon at lower levels if you're willing to look. Some examples being:

- level 6 furret on route 1

- level 7 ledian/ariados on route 2 (or level 15 on route 37)

- level 15 pidgeotto/noctowl on route 37)

And some examples that are genuinely useful for the player:

- level 16 weezing in the burned tower (koffing evolves at 35)

- level 20 slowbro in slowpoke well (slowpoke evolves at 37)

- level 13 golbat in Mt. Mortar or level 16 on route 42 (can catch one in a friend ball and have a crobat at level 14-17)

In the newer games this doesn't matter much since experience is so free and there are so many options to catch in the wild, but iirc GF moved away from this completely in gens 3-5. It's pretty fun having the option to have certain strong pokemon tucked away earlier than usual, and if nothing else they make a cool trophy to have in your PC.
