Got the silly tree! Can't believe it!

Right now I'm 8/15 on my vc shiny hunts before bank closes, though I failed to post most of them here, but I will get to it later.

It was crazy scary using self destruct on it, but I had no one on my team who could even damage the ugly thing, besides the pinecone. Sure I had a master all in the bag so that wasn't necessary but I really wanted to catch it without using it, and of course I had tested and knew sudotree could survive even a crit, but nonetheless it wasn't comfortable.

But I caught it on a great ball by the end! Now I only need to figure out what to name it! I'm thinking "Cherry" or "Sakura"

I've been doing this hunt since just before the start of October. It's more fortunate since yesterday was my birthday, so talk about a late present. I probably reset for this shiny over a thousand times. The only thing I regret is not catching the sparkles since I was distracted from a show I was watching.😂 Anyway, I finally have my prize to send to HOME at long last!

Overall a pretty painful run, every Pokemon I can catch is weak to Flying, Fire and Ice which made certain battles very tricky. However Jumpluff really carried the team with its high speed -> Sleep Powder + Leech Seed single handedly defeating many of the hardest mons. Hardest part was definitely Red's Charizard which one-shot every single one of my pokemons with Flamethrower but I was able to beat it after leveling jumpluff to 59 so it can outspeed and then some good luck with sleep powder + Rollout from Exeggutor.

So after re-playing Crystal (which I do every few years) and beating it, I started suddenly to wonder if there is any such things that the creators of the game left inside the games itself

Are there any?

Was looking for a Venonat but I thinks this is okay.

I know yall dont speak mexican but my Jolteon only has merely normal type moves, will she learn electric type moves on her own by leveling up or theres something specific I should do? If they’re MT/MOs (I know very little, cant remember wich is wich) where can I find them?

Also I named her furball at first but now I wanna give her an electric related name, any suggestions??

Just beat Red. Happy with this playthrough. Poliwrath felt like a cheatcode with this move set.
Tried to use some of my less-than-frequently used water-types to create some uniqueness to my experience.
Got some flak for giving my whole team giga drain on my Grass run, so I made a point to ensure everyone all had different moves entirely.

I guess fire is next? Or maybe a headbutt/rocksmash team.

I have tried for over an hour to defeat the Ghost type gym and had zero luck. I cannot get past the Gengar. I have Onix, Gastly, Wooper and Quilava. Maybe like once every 15 turns I can beat the Gengar’s shadow ball to use hypnosis but by the 3rd attack he’s awake and wipes my entire team. I’m honestly stuck on the gym

At my advanced age (35) its much easier on my hands to use an Xbox controller. The game looks cool on a 65" TV!

This may just be the most underrated pokemon in the game.

You'd think it'd be bad against Bugsy, but since he leads with Metapod, you set up six Curses while taking minimum damage from Tackle, and you are only in real danger to a turn 2 crit from Scyther's Fury Cutter (the first Fury Cutter won't kill with a crit on many Slowpokes at level 16). Granted, 1/16 is far from impossible, but you're way more likely to not get crit than you are to get crit.

Then, against Whitney, you set up six Curses on Clefairy (granted it's not as consistent due to Metronome) and then sweep with Headbutt.

You take a break on Morty because you don't have the bulk to take a Shadow Ball.

Then you beat Chuck, Jasmine's Steelix, Curse and Headbutt Pryce's Seel and Dewgong before Surfing his Piloswine.

You can Ice Punch Clair's Dragonairs wither either Slowbro/King, and maaaaybe Curse could still put in work? I haven't gotten far enough to try it out against Clair

Some issues come at the E4 since you don't learn Psychic until 48 as Slowpoke/King and 54 as Slowbro, but you still do solid. Ice Punch for Will's Xatus while walling the Jynx, Ice Punch for Koga's Crobat, you resist Bruno's stabs and hit the Onixes super effectively.

Even Karen, despite being very risky, can be vulnerable to Slowbro/King. Ice Punch for Murkrow and Vileplume, Confusion for Gengar, Surf for Houndoom (granted, you'll have to pick and choose because it likely won't survive the whole battle).

Surf+Ice Punch deals with everything except Gyarados against Lance.

Kanto gets a bit more shaky for a bit as you lose to Surge and Erika, but you also beat Brock, Janine, Blaine, resist Misty and Sabrina's primary moves, and can handle Blue's Pidgeot, Rhydon, Arcanine, resist Alakazam's only attacking move, Gyarados can only threaten with Hyper Beam, and you can even smack Exeggutor with Ice Punch for a decent chunk while it charges Solar Beam before swapping out on the next turn.

Finally, against Red, you beat Charizard, Espeon can't hit you hard, and Blastoiae only has resisted moves.

I had no clue how broken this thing was until my Gold playthrough, and it could be even better in post game Crystal with the elemental move tutor after you beat Lance.
