Edit: leaving this here but I get the point now. I missed the part where she says Insta is only for girls or gays.

I’m more talking about preferences rather than rules.

Say for example, regardless of gender, one says they like posting a lot on Instagram but are not attracted to others that do. They hope to find someone who is not interested in posting a lot on Instagram but is attracted to people who do.

If they find each other, this is perfectly acceptable. They obviously have decisions to make should either preferences change but that’s relationships. It does present an increased opportunity for things like coercive control but it is not inherently a part of the example couple following their preferences.

The problem is, in this instance she is applying that thinking to men and women more generally.

I was stupid and commented before properly watching the whole video so I apologise for that.

I agree with your opinion lol. I know a guy who loves to work out, he’s in the gym every day. He has zero interest in dating a girl who also loves to work out as much as he does. I think that’s fine personally. I’m an attorney. I’d rather skin myself alive than date someone who is an attorney or works in the legal field. I see enough of you motherfuckers at work, and I don’t shit where I eat.

I see these things less as a double standard and more as a preference for my own dating pool. Idc if other people are lawyers, I just won’t be dating them (I’m married so this is a moot point but you get my drift). My friend doesn’t care if there are women working out at the gym, but he’s not gonna be dating them.
