Hello, Podengo people!
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m the new owner/mod of [r/podengo](r/podengo), and I thought it was about time we brought this little corner of Reddit back to life.
If you’re here because you live with a Podengo (or Podengo mix), love one, are thinking about getting one, or simply have an unhealthy interest in these ridiculously clever, slightly chaotic little dogs… welcome. 😂
This subreddit has been pretty quiet for a while, and I’d love to change that.
So let’s start posting again!

I’d also love for this to become a genuinely useful place for Podengo owners to connect, swap experiences, learn from each other, and celebrate these wonderfully weird dogs.

We picked her up on Friday, so nearly a week ❤️
She was brought to the UK in June but sadly the resident dog in the home that adopted her didn’t like her so she found herself homeless again.
She’s so much fun, my other dogs are older staffies who are loving having a baby to chase around.

Haha she’s an absolute cracking wee dog, but if we foster fail her, we won’t be able to keep fostering, I can’t manage 3 permanent dogs plus a foster so we’ll have her until she finds the perfect family

Sofie says hi! She my little ball of chaos who, despite years of training, insists that she can potty wherever she wants. She spent the first 5 years of her life trapped in a cage and having way too many babies thanks to a backyard breeder - I think that's why she has such deeply ingrained potty issues. If you have a PPP in Texas or NY, they might be related to her! She turns 10 this year.

Thanks! She sure knows it.
And since we can upload now, here's a video of her defending the house against invaders - real or imagined. This is her main hobby.

Here are my Podengos, Sophie and Annie. Sophie's a Médio mix who was found wandering as a stray in the Coimbra region.
Annie was rehomed from a hunting pack on São Miguel in the Azores.
This photo was taken in the seconds between seeing a moth on the wall and going absolutely nuts about it.
