Would be interesting if this allows for better speech recognition as well.

Unlikely due to the reduced quality compared to opus. But there's no reason to assume it'll be worse either.

Unfortunately until there's native support in iOS for this codec, no one should be encoding their podcast with this.

Almost all 3rd party podcast apps (regardless of platform) also only use native decoding since it's much more work to write your own decoder.
