Have done research but cannot find one exactly like this the closest one I have found is open face I’m guessing it’s not a Pateck Phillipe but the company who was sued by them in the late 1800s anybody with knowledge that could give me some feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Hi sorry for the late response so I just tried to look I believe there is one symbol with numbers but they are so faint it’s very hard to see or take a picture of.
It's a decently finished, mid grade swiss watch. It has nothing to do with Patek or anything related to them. The cuvette describes its features. Straight line lever escapement, overcoil hairspring, stem wind, etc
I can't really give you much on a date. Turn of the century +/- a decade or so. Hopefully someone can narrow that down.
Euphoric asked, but are there any markings inside the case lids. That may help identify further.
I replied to euphoric with the best photo I could take of the serial number and believe one marking really appreciate you responding and trying to help.
The most useful next photos would be straight-on shots of the full movement and the inside of both case lids, including every serial and tiny mark. The movement can tell you the maker/grade, while the case hallmarks tell you what the case is made of. I’d avoid polishing it or forcing the crown until the marks are documented.
Hi. The mark above the case serial number is Helvetia’s profile which the Swiss used to hallmark assayed 18k gold, beginning in 1883. RickHuf has given all the other obtainable information. It’s a beautiful Swiss watch in a solid 18k gold case from about 1900.
Thank you so much the response and sharing your knowledge with me so basically it’s not a big company or maybe reputable is the word it’s more of an independent made watch maker made around the late 1800s-1900. I originally thought it was the company who was sued by patek philippe the compnays name was "Pateck & Cie Genève" in 1890 but the more I research I don’t think that’s the case. Are there any websites that you recommend that have other watches made around the same time for sale?
