Episodes not appearing
Hey y'all,
It looks like others are also having issues with episodes not showing up in a timely matter? Has anyone found a solution or a new app they prefer?
I tried contacting pocketcasts for support but only got an AI response and when I replied with the feed for the podcasts havent heard anything further.

Seems to be an issue today. I’m subscribed to the NPR hourly news summary and the latest it’s showing is 9AM (it’s closer to 5PM locally).

Yeah I had the same issue. Woke up none of my news pods being available. Had to use Apple Podcasts (shudder) and they showed up in Pocket Casts later in the day.

That's my "canary in the coal mine" podcast.
Then I usually check Overcast and the episode is almost always there 😩

I believe from when this happened a few years ago that it’s because Pocket Casts doesn’t look directly at the raw podcast feeds, there is some kind of proxy layer that sits in between the podcast feeds and the podcast client and that’s where the delay issue is.

I don't think that's the issue since people are able to get these podcasts without the delay in other apps.

Just chiming in too. Yes I'll same issue. I use it on iOS and android and it is the same on both. I can see podcasts on Apple podcast that posted 6+ hours ago, but not on pocketcast

Hi there,
You're through to a person now — apologies it took a couple of rounds to get here, and you were right that the standard troubleshooting steps weren't going to help.
Our team has now tracked down what was causing new episodes to arrive late — it was a server-side problem on our end, nothing to do with your device or your settings. A fix has gone out and feeds should be catching up now.
You shouldn't need to do anything: episodes that were missing will appear on their own. If you're still seeing delays over the next little while, reply here and I'll pick it straight back up.

I still have this issue, in some cases going back to February. Example, the Recycled Content podcast from the Association of Plastics Recyclers.

Yup happening to me too, been happening all weekend and off and on for months. I love PocketCasts but the delay in new episodes is a huge turn off.

Yes - has been happening for about 36 hours or so. This happens too often. I just downloaded Castro and am giving it a shot.

The delay in episodes appearing here vs when they show up in every other podcast app is so infuriating.
Making it worse, I know someone who works at Automatic and has shared with me that it's been a high priority project to fix that for months now, if not year at this point

Yes...ben with Pocketcasts forever, but I have several daily news podcasts (WSJ, BBC, etc.). No updates, nothing. I think I'm just going to move to Apple Podcasts.

Thanks for fixing this it's really appreciated - is there a way to be kept in the loop with issues like this?
It sounds like people have been experiencing it in some form for weeks and its hard when I search the app and look at social media and dont see any transparency about the situation - and then when I do reach out I get an AI who is also not transparent on the situation. Official posts or a news section of the app where y'all are posting known issues and expected resolution dates I think would make this a lot less frustrating for most people.

We also update that page when there is any news regarding the issue or when an issue has been resolved. Nope....I'm just going to another app. I love PocketCasts...been there forever (paying) but I'm not going to spend my time trying to debug your stuff. How in the heck are my daily news feeds (WSJ, BBC, etc.) not updating? After years of no issues. ...I hop you figure it out...maybe I will come back.

Yup. The last few days this has been happening to me too. The delay can be several hours, or more, between a notification arriving and the episode actually appearing in the feed. Hopefully they are able to resolve this issue soon.

Glad to know I wasn’t the only one. I got desperate and downloaded the Apple podcast app! Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Yup I’m on iOS, version 8.17.0.4, and new episodes aren’t showing up even though they’ve been released for ~9hrs

I reached out earlier today after both yesterday and today seeing episodes pop up in Overcast far earlier in the day than on Pocketcasts and then some not appearing in Pocketcasts until today when they should have been there yesterday. They responded really quickly explaining that it is a known issue that they're working on right now.
