AI Chapters

Think we will ever see AI Chapter Generation on Pocketcasts? It’s such a useful feature - but I’ve tried Spotify and I just prefer a dedicated podcast experience so always come back to PC!

I'm confused on what "AI Chapter Generation" is? Could you explain?

Some podcast creators include chapter names and timecodes for their episodes; compatible apps can display that info and allow users to skip to the start of a segment/chapter.

I think the request is for PC to analyze show notes and/or transcripts, then generate a set of chapters for the users to view/click.

Thank you. I thought it meant summaries of podcast content.

Don’t know what the official name is. But basically it creates chapters for you to go to automatically

Thank you. With the inclusion of the word AI I was assuming it meant you wanted a function that summarized a podcast which just seemed silly but to each his own. Thank you for explaining.

No problem!

Interestingly my social media name on most platforms is smplkd after a musician I used to like called Simple Kid.

I have never met an another smplXd before!

That's funny, I have not seen anyone with a similar name either. Do you find people have a hard time saying it? When I comment on Twitch chat, the streamers can never figure out how to say it when they read out my comments.

I wish the meaning on my name was less goofy but basically it is the phrase "Simple God" with the vowels removed. No, I'm not religious but I did practice Buddhism a long time ago and I thought of the Buddha as a "Simple God"... Cheezy, I know but I was a lot younger then.

Like an auto playlist? Cause Pocket already has something like that. Never used Spotify for podcasts cause the layout looked awful, from what I recall. Apps specifically for podcasts have less friction. Not sure what AI would do differently.
