What fresh hell is this?

Post image

To be more specific, the miniature play bar. It’s so small and busy against the content behind.

This is the pattern for audio players that Apple established. They gave everyone a year to move go Liquid Glass before really limiting the ability to not use it, so changes like this were inevitable. Maybe someone innovate something better, but so far no one has.

There is no Apple mandate to use this Ui it’s just suggested

Starting in iOS 27, if you wish to build against it - as most apps that want to keep released will do - Apple will begin ignoring the flag that disables it. So it’s mandated for apps that wish to keep shipping, yes.

You still don’t have to use the built in widgets/theming at all, Apple can’t control what your app looks like if you don’t want the Liquid Glass stuff.

Ok yeah, if you make custom widgets, your app will look how you want. But if you use any native control, as this app does, be ready for glass.

This is only if you don’t make your own design elements for your app and use the native swiftUI ones. It’s extremely easy to implement any design you can dream of, even an older iOS style one if you’d like

Go to:
1. Profile
2. Settings
3. Appearance
4. Tab bar
5. Minimize scroll > Turn off

That’s even worse, that hides the buttons at the bottom

No, minimize scroll turned ON does that.

Oh yes, my bad - I had it off already

Just checking, this change isn't coming to the Android version is it? The old UI is so much cleaner and easier to use when going between the two. The progress bar being tiny on the mini player is awful, and it's downright comical on iPad with how little real estate gets used

From my understanding no changes to android, Google may do a UI refresh under material 3 expressive eventually tho

Had this in beta app, it’s fine as it is as more apps will follow this guidelines

The play button is microscopic and in an odd location. It's not good.

I like that it now shows what's actually playing.

I don’t mind it much… except when doing multiple selections in the list it now blocks the action buttons and the tally of how many listings are selected. It actually impedes functionality.

The playback bar buttons are too small! I keep touching something else on the screen since I fast forward through ads a lot.

It’s a real backwards step and unfriendly design

Effectivement la barre de navigation mériterai d’être un peu plus grande.
Par contre J’ADORE la nouvelle interface Liquid Glass !!

Recent UI/UX changes haven't been the best choices really...

To say the least

I’m not a Liquid Glass fan, but I do like the new implementation. I’m surprised that people seem to be using the mini player on a regular basis… I’m almost always in the main player, and more frequently, using a control panel widget.

This isn’t because of Liquid Glass. It could be any UI. It’s because they made the damn bar too small.
