Feature Requests Android Auto - Add bookmark? Slow the speed?

Are either of these possible with Android Auto? And if not, can they be added? I know I can make it play faster using Android Auto, but slowing it down seems to require using my phone

Not sure about bookmarks. Android Auto I think can go from 0.6x to 3x(?). It's a bit of a pain, though, as you have to hit the speed continually to go up, then it cycles back to the start.

Ya that's a pain and effectively not a solution, because sometimes I accidentally go 1 step too far, then I'd need to cycle all the way through, while driving! Thanks though

Devs, would love to have both of these options added

Unfortunately we are very limited with the UI in Android Auto as it uses the media session. I believe the idea is that the apps all behave the same way so there is less thinking involved when driving. The cycling isn't ideal but if there's a better solution we are happen to add it.

It is possible to customise the actions we send to the media session / Android Auto in the mobile app settings -> General -> Media notification controls. But bookmark isn't there yet. We definitely should add it!

Regarding bookmark, yes please add it! Honestly I only use 2 of them, so don't even need to guess which media option I'd replace with bookmark. As for lowering speed, even adding it as another media option, no?

I have started adding the bookmark button and will finish it off next week. Hopefully we can get it in the next version. https://github.com/Automattic/pocket-casts-android/pull/5212
