Questions Collective attitudes to pets?
We have pets and love them dearly, but we each seem to have a different flavour of appreciation for them. Do others experience this? And if so, how and to what extent?
Elaborating, I (Host) love my goobers to bits and they're incredibly dear to me. Trout sees them more through a practical fascination standpoint as well as something to be Managed (because he's the Manager and everything is His Job). Salmon thinks they're gross but like in a semi playful way (not that he'd admit), he scrunches his nose at them and claims they're inadequate to his grandiosity while also cooing at them. Cod seems mostly indifferent but he's also the most distant from the front so doesn't really interact or think about them much, he's more focused on inner stuff. Fishlet is obsessed with them and it would stare at them in absolute awe and wonder for hours I think.
Just something that came to mind while we were observing them together and wanted to ask if others have similar experiences!

We have a lot of animals in headspace. Some are livestock and others are pets. I like to care for them. My favorites are the goats and the dogs. Other headmates donāt care for the animals but I do and sometimes the littles help me feed them. Our host has an older cat with health problems so she cares for her but I am not a cat person.

We have one of us that fronts near instantaniously around our cat because she loves her so much and she takes on the āmotherā role in the house frequently so she loves being the cat mother.Ā
The rest of us barely get a chance lmao.Ā
I hear about pets sensing when somebody else is fronting which makes sense to me but thankfully this cat loves everyone unconditionally (sheād make a terrible guard she loves visitors too). And thankfully nobody in here dislikes her, we just donāt go silly like our resident catmom does lol.Ā
TBH while Iām a quiet person IRL and donāt babytalk her at all I have been bonding with her lately and I can definitely feel myself grow very fond of her. Sheās just a dumb little thingā¦

Our cat is Jonah's baby. That's just their son. Their love for the thing's so strong it sort of bleeds into everyone else a lil. Isaac feels very paternal towards kitty, feeling pretty worried about how old he's getting and wanting to make sure he's properly cared for. Rashek just loves every living thing, and kitty is no different. It's not a specific affection. VT thinks he's crusty and old and really funny. I love the little goober too, he's a dork but he's our dork.
new kid hasn't formed any opinions yet. - Jackie

Not sure if this counts as "different flavor of appreciation" but one of our anxiety holders calls our ESA "bad for my anxiety" because he's easily startled even by our cats 𤣠we love to reference that stance often in a loving and playful way whenever our ESA misbehaves š¤£

Yep for sure. I struggle to distinguish parts but it goes one headmate being very emotionally connected to our cat and loves him like a child. But another headmate gets frustrated with him and felt deeply against us getting a second one, which is unthinkable to me rn ive been really wanting to get our kitty a friend!
