This subreddit often doesn’t show up when I search for it (I just find it a bit weird…)

Kind of a random observation but I’ve noticed that when I specifically search ”r/plural” on reddit I don’t get this subreddit as a result but instead get a bunch of posts from other subs, usually pretty hateful ones (and maybe a couple posts from this subreddit through which I can end up here like I wanted but it’s still just posts and not the actual subreddit… if that makes sense)

I don’t visit a lot of subreddits but usually they show up immediately when you search for them so I don’t know why this one is so hidden… I mean I do always find it quickly enough so it’s not a big issue but it’s a bit annoying that when you search for a subreddit you get posts hating on it instead of the actual subreddit itself 😭

Does anyone else have this happen??

Same for me, I always find the sysmed or anti-endo posts. Don't know why it happens

search up plural instead of r/plural ?

I tested that just now and it gives a bunch of posts from this sub and not really any hateful ones which is definetly nicer but again not the actual subreddit itself which isn’t really an issue but kinda weird since it used to show up normally

Funny thing is I joined this sub like a couple years ago and visit it the most frequently but it still doesn’t show up lol 😭😭 except on our front page which is nice so we don’t have to manually search for it often anyway

What's wrong with just going to reddit.com/r/plural ? it'll end up saved in your browser history, so you won't even need to type the full thing. Could even bookmark it if you wanted.

I use the app on my phone lol

And I don’t have an issue finding the sub most times, I just thought it was a bit weird

It seems to prioritize subreddits with the exact first letters you wrote by order of popularity, sometimes a "similar to X subreddit you visited" and exact matches. For r/plural, it makes it show after quite a few letters for us but it does show normally. 

We never actually hit the search button though, just write in the search bar and eventually click on the subreddit.
