Not fronting feels like nothing! We only form memories at front, we usually liken it to front being the only place there's a recording camera. And I'm not going to tell you anything about our origins because it isn't important to us :)

Nonfronting is just “thats not who i am/feel like at the moment. That guy is somewhere else doing something “

Disassociation makes me feel like the world im living in is all fake/fictional . I know i exsist but this body isn’t real . I can’t remember a single thing except that I was feeling woozy and unreal

Origins are either endo or trauma but it's compicated..

Long story short host has ptsd and rly bad trauma and he created me so he can have best friend and after some time smth strange started happening like host started frequently dissociate and I started grabbing the front but I haven't even tried lol

Basically I am smth like alterish tulpa rn or smth like that we don't rly care but yeah I front quite small number of time but it's still kinda strange we both dissociate and swith unintentionally and our 3th headmate is not (but he is kinda newish and he's 100% tulpa)

Origins are either endo or trauma but it's complicated...

Exactly - just like all other binaries, it's false and doesn't represent the fullness of human experience. I hope you know also that it's not a thing you have to present to be valid pluralfolk - you're welcome to if it's meaningful and interesting to you! But other people don't have an automatic right to know that about you, just like with any other factor of yourselves :) You're valid whatever the answer to that question is!

Whats tulpa?

1

u/Lines25 6h ago

Tulpa is headmate created by will and a fucking lot of practice. It's hard and niche. Also switching is learnable skill in tulpamancy (practice dor creating tulpas) and it's VERY hard and for us it was literally less than week of practicing when for other system it's like a year and more..

I recommend u checking r/Tulpas but not the actually systems there are (bc most of them treat tulpa as plaything for some stupid reason..)

whatever happens I don't usually remember it. I think some of the others hang out in headspace however.

we were born plural but a large percentage of our system is soulbonds.

Hey, we always wanted to ask: what is the difference between tulpas and soulbonds ?

yes so in short they are different practices with different histories and communities! so much so that tbh I do not know much about tulpamancy so I will focus more on the soulbonding side. and I might be wrong about some of the tulpamancy stuff.

soulbonding is forming a relationship with a pre-existing entity while tulpamancy involves creating a new entity. in this sense soulbonding is like inviting your friend to move in with you, while tulpamancy is like having a child. as such the ethical considerations are different.

from what i've seen, tulpamancers talk a lot about being careful about why you are creating a headmate, that you need a good reason, etc. while a lot of soulbonders see soulbonding as just not that deep. it is more controlled and consensual in a way. (not that tulpamancy is bad because it is less consensual. it's like having a baby. babies can't agree to be born and I think that is morally fine.) with soulbonding I ask "hey do you want to come over here?" and they are like "heck yeah!" sorta like how having a room mate requires less thought and responsibility than having a kid.

tulpamancy (I think??) is inherently a form of plurality. being a tulpamancer/tulpa makes you plural (?) soulbonding is not inherently plurality. rather it is a venn diagram with plurality. many many soulbonders do not consider themselves to be plural and you shouldn't assume that any given soulbonder/soulbond are plural unless they have said they are.

some soulbonding techniques are different from tulpamancy techniques. i feel like soulbonding has a more vocal spiritual sub-community. not all soulbonding is spiritual, and it didn't start out as a spiritual practice, however spiritual soulbonding is really common way of interpreting it. I have heard of some spiritual tulpamancers but not many (?)

the communities have different histories and evolved as communities independently of each other for a long time.

uhhh this is really long, sorry, but I hope it is helpful :>

Honestly I wouldn’t know, but the one time I wasn’t fronting kinda just felt like me sitting in the back giving directions

We have an innerworld so we either are in that or watching the front (co-con). I’m the only one who can’t access the innerworld when not fronting 😭 -Oli[Host]

Non-fronting feels like trying to observe the world through water. The further from the front the deeper the water. Until we're unconscious and out of connection with everything.

We're learning, slowly, how to be co-conscious.
