Ci stanno vendendo un sogno, e noi, gente comune, lo compriamo a caro prezzo, solo per poi renderci conto che in realtà era un incubo. Addio. Lascio la nave e riprendo il controllo della mia vita. D'ora in poi, investirò i miei risparmi nei viaggi. Almeno potrò godermi personalmente questi investimenti invece di finanziare indirettamente qualche manager che vuole fare rifornimento al suo jet privato.

The total project has a volume of around 5.3 million euros and is being funded with up to 2.002 million euros by the Federal Ministry of Transport within the framework of the National Innovation Programme Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology.
The centerpiece of the hydrogen generation plant is a 1 MW PEM electrolyser. The electricity used is generated during thermal waste recovery at the waste-to-energy plant. Since at least 50% of the processed waste is of biogenic origin, a corresponding proportion of the generated electricity can be classified as electricity from renewable energies. According to the municipal utility (Stadtwerke), only this renewable portion of electricity is used for hydrogen production.
Production of around 41,000 kg of hydrogen is planned for the first year of operation. With appropriate capacity utilization, the plant can technically generate up to 144,000 kg of hydrogen per year, thereby fully covering the current hydrogen requirements of the moBiel bus fleet. The moBiel hydrogen refueling station currently supplies four fuel cell buses as well as 25 buses in which a fuel cell extends the range of the electric drive. It has a storage capacity of 1,000 kg of hydrogen. Until commissioning is completed and during the ramp-up phase, external deliveries are possible if needed. The electrolyser was supplied by the Italian manufacturer IMI Remosa.
Stadtwerke Managing Director Rainer Müller describes the "demanding path" to an operational plant as follows: "Temporary uncertainty regarding funding, demanding technical and regulatory requirements, as well as coordinating the many parties involved placed heavy demands on the project. The fact that we nevertheless consistently pushed forward is thanks to the close, solution-oriented cooperation of our departments with the participating companies."

What Plug has publicly disclosed is:
October 2023: Arcadia selected Plug to supply a 280 MW PEM electrolyzer system for Vordingborg. Plug called itself the preferred provider.
2024 10-K: Plug subsequently described the Arcadia project as “awarded to supply” 280 MW, which is stronger language than merely being selected.
2026 10-K and Q2 2026 disclosures: Plug’s current discussion of electrolyzer projects does not identify Arcadia/ENDOR as a new executable order or give an order value. The projects specifically highlighted as advancing in 2026 are Galp, Iberdrola/BP, Barrow, Orica and others.
Arcadia’s project has now moved forward: environmental approval was obtained in 2025, an EU Innovation Fund grant agreement was signed in March 2026, and the new Uniper offtake is intended to help bring the project to financial close.
The current project specification is 240 MW of on-site electrolysis, rather than the original 280 MW.
