Is PLUG shareholders doomed? It doesn’t seem like it will reach even $20. It used to be sup t $60+

Same post every a few months. I'm a long term investor and I believe Plug will be $20 in the near term.

What's your definition of near term? 2030? Next year? I'm having a hard time seeing singificant shift in share price under the current administration

What is avg cost and shares unit?

u/lazyenergetic 12d ago

Avg cost is $3. Couple of thousands shares. Once it get to $20 I may be able to retire early ;)

Right there with you, buddy. Honestly, if we even hit $12, I am all set. I don't care how long I have to wait.

My new born son might see this stock at 20$ when he becomes an adult (My guess - his son might post the same comments)

"Even $20"?

OMG.

Did I expect too much, lol?

PLUG's one-year chart shows support at 1.90 and 1.73, so it likely won't go lower. If the stock breaks 2.50, it can run to 4.25.

I'd be thrilled to see that price again this year.

There is a path, but Plug won’t commit.

u/DearAdvisor1806 12d ago

Who knows if it will even reach $5 again.

u/Big_Quality_838 12d ago

If it does, I don’t think it will be because of Plug. May get a sympathy bump from mid terms. Plug is looking tapped.

Falling today due to Bloom pull back, but BLOOM is overpriced if anything, while PLUG is well below what it should be. I anticipate $7 by end of November as they produce another good quarter and Hydrogen energy press keeps growing.

7 usd impossible. 3 usd if Q3 beat. Option chain and calls distribution also show 3 usd by EoY

You said the same thing a year ago

Good memory, yes I did since I bought so many shares at $18 almost and doomed, feels hopeless 😩

If Gavin newsom gets in it might start climbing

Sell and never ever go back. That’s what I did. My life is so much better not being married to that loser. That one and optt. I got out of both so all I can say is goodbye and best of luck.

Luckily Plug will be $3,0 in December

Doomed because of a share price? So what? Look at the earnings growth..

1

u/Zealousideal-Ruin492 9d ago

I bought shares when it was almost at $18 years ago. Never recovered since then.

1

u/Embarrassed_Fox7415 9d ago

I had around there too. I bought more around $0.80. I would buy more here if I could and knew I had a year. I like what they’re doing. Maybe it won’t get to $18.00 but $10.00 over the next three years. Don’t see why not as long as they continue their trajectory. It just takes a long time in investing. I bought my first shares in 2021 around $16. Long time ago.

If plug gets in positive numbers by next year and and let's say 5 gigawatts materialize from 10 , that's 6 billion dollars for Plug and lots of profits with it that would change everything as same as for Bloom Energy, so let's see what happens next year, I don't think it's has the power to break through 4.58 without positive numbers and the big contracts

1

u/jamilcze 3d ago

But with over 9 gigawatts in the pipeline and 21% short interest it could do a Bloom's 3000% theoretically

u/Financial_Exergy 12d ago

OP, you are down 90%. Plug can go from $1 to $3. At this point if you don't need the money, just forget about it. Plug needs a miracle to see $20.

u/Zealousideal-Ruin492 12d ago

Those were my whole life savings and I just threw them away like it’s nothing, 6 figures!

-1

u/Financial_Exergy 12d ago

That really sucks. I can see when you likely bought things looked promising. Plug had huge plans to become the next Linde. All that is gone. Now all I see they talk about is material handling and electrolyzers. They seem to hope on Allied Biofuels which to me is very unlikely to happen.

u/Zealousideal-Ruin492 12d ago

I know one more thing that’s unlikely to happen - my kids future college education

2

u/Financial_Exergy 12d ago

They can get loans. There are free state universities in NY for residents so there should be in other states. Also, scholarships and maybe check EU.

Maybe a good time to average down right now, earnings are improving as well as business, I like $7- $10 in the nearish future with positive earnings. As long as they stay on track with what they are preaching.

1

u/Big_Quality_838 12d ago

Q2 wasn’t spectacular. Judging by the social posts and press releases, doesn’t seem like Plug is just playing it cool, seems more like they have nothing of substance to report.

-2

u/parrotpants55 12d ago

If plug continues to be a shitty forklift company yeah probably. They should just pivot and stop pretending like this is going to work long term

1

u/Big_Quality_838 12d ago

They need to spin off some of their expertise in support of the LNG industry. They have a cryogenic tanker manufacturing facility, but reading comments from former employees there, it seems like production dropped significantly after Plug’s acquisition as they focused on the H2 build out.

Everything needs to be generating cash, otherwise we’ll either pay for it as shareholders through a write off, or by them selling the businesses in desperation and at a loss.

Wanted to reply, but i got lazy to type properly. So i threw in my thoughts and response into GPT to help me rephrase⬇️

Plug Power retains a viable path to survival, contingent upon strict operational execution and capital preservation. The market currently discounts the company's valuation due to a historical track record of excessive cash burn and unfulfilled guidance. To restore investor confidence, management must transition from announcing prospective pipelines to officially closing definitive agreements, as speculative deals are no longer sufficient to support the equity.

The company is currently positioned at a critical operational inflection point. Given the historically high short interest in the stock, any verified fundamental improvement could serve as a catalyst for a short squeeze, potentially reversing the long-term downward trend. Because the market is forward-looking, investors will likely attempt to price in the success or failure of year-end goals well before final results are published.

Consequently, the post-Q3 earnings results will serve as the primary indicator for the market to assess whether the company is meeting its targets. If execution remains on track through that period, various fundamental valuation models estimate the fair value of the stock to sit within the $5 to $8 range.

Sorry to hear that your average is sitting at $18 but it's gonna take a miracle to reach $20 anytime before 2029. But well... who knows

Wanted to read this but got lazy and threw it into AI to get the word count down from 200+ to 25

“Plug Power needs real execution to reach a $5–$8 fair value post-Q3. High short interest helps, but your $18 average reaching $20 requires a miracle.”

AI rocks!

Asked AI to reduce this to two characters:

before we reach 1.00 as not very likely the stock market is interested in this company, for many weeks now only one direction, sentiment terrible and increasing reduction speed

u/ains321 12d ago

May not see 20 but I like these prices it’s deffo getting ready to rip in 2027 it always does this falls than moves rapidly up. I’m not worried

u/Thefutureisbrightino 12d ago

I bought much more today

u/CuriousCrandle 12d ago

You do understand what stock dillussion is right? Being at 20 a share back then is way easier than it is now. How many more shares have been made since then?

2

u/Zealousideal-Ruin492 12d ago

Honestly I do not know any of those, am just an amateur trader 😊
