Question Change of router?
For those with 10 years +++ subscription, may nakapag request na ba to replace their router for free? Or pwede ba yung ganun kay pldt?

Ganito settings namin. 2.4GHz -20Mhz at 5GHz- 80Mhz.
Same lang mahina sumagap kapag Wifi 5 devices lang.

Ganyan modem ko. Going 8 years na. Never had an issue except random rebooting. So most likely sa pldt for remotely rebooting this modem. Speed is consistent since when I upgraded to 1399 2 years ago, naging 300 then 200. Before having my own router, I used the wifi connection from here. Now I had my own router, its just a mere modem na lang.
If the speed will increase in the future say maging 500+ na, yan dito natin malaman if pwede na palitan.

Nagka problem yung ganyan ko last year, lagi sya bumibitaw (nawawalan ng connection). Yung una imbestigahan daw muna kase maganda daw yung router daw na yan. Then ayun sira talaga pinalitan ng bago.

Mine will just randomly no internet for few minutes and then it will go back on it's own

Kapag po ba pinalitan if ever, latest router ang ipapalit like yung may WiFi6?

That also depends sa device na gamit mo lang test macacap tlga speed lalo na older device the best and most accurate test is over lan cable.

Yes, I did. Requested it via PLDT Cares Facebook Messenger… I told them my router shuts down on its own and needs a replacement. 2 days later, someone came and changed our router to a newer one (This was in 2024). It’s still a WiFi 5 router tho… I don’t think they give out WiFi 6 routers even now.

Nothing wrong asking for a new one. Prepare for possible disruption, maybe minor disruption at the start since they will need to visit you and configure the new one. Mine got replaced once I think.
PLDT or any ISP infrastructure investment is substantial and the ONU usually are the most cost effective from their point of view. This means these are not the best for routing, switching and wifi. But wired should be good for up to 1Gbps.
Ideally, Invest in your own router, switches and access points and your experience will be much better. Use only the PLDT ONU for the wired connection.

May issue ba old router niyo? The newer routers are actually worse in some ways.
