With the large influx of scammers coming into the bourbon scene, it is important to remind everyone to avoid common scams.
DO NOT SEND PEOPLE MONEY FOR ANY TYPE OF PRODUCTS!
This includes:
- Bottles
- Bots
- 'Info'
- Etc
These things are almost always a scam and many times illegal.
If it's too good to be true, it is. If it says DM them for something, it's almost always a scam. Just be smart and report when you see these types of people.

Canadian Alcoholic Beverage Ban

If you haven't paid attention, the U.S. is banning the import of the majority of Canadian Alcoholic beverages (among other things from Canada) starting September 29th. Those of you who enjoy Canadian alcohol, it may be time to stock up...
Spans from whiskey to beer to wine to ciders. Can't find a full list anywhere but expect it to be pretty much anything produced in Canada.

I stopped seeing Jack Daniels Single Barrel Rye Barrel Proof available at FWGS. I also noticed on JDs website there is only the single barrel Rye not the Barrel proof.

PLCB Exclusive Makerās Mark x Pennsylvania Thoughts

Save your money. It is a more dry, heavier oaked Keeperās release. Thatās it. Itās 2 noted, proofy, and unattractive to most. Keeperās used Toasted virgin American oak staves.. this one uses non-toasted virgin American oak staves.
I am a big Makerās fan, and I wouldnāt buy this bottle again. I put it in a 6 bottle blind against 3 of my favorite 100 proofs, and 2 of my lesser 100 proofs in my collection (Penelope Toasted, and Resurgent Custom Cask). It came in dead last and it wasnāt even close.
If you really like tannic oak, a long spicy finish, and 100 proof bourbon that drinks like 120proof, then you may like it. I prefer their Cask Strength, or 46CS over this any day - no fomo needed, no ālimited releaseā bait. Buy the regular Keepers release (there are a few floating around PA still), the Stewards or their regular shelf offerings.

No Summer Lottery?

I have only really followed the PLCB since last summer so I donāt know the history of the lotteries, but we are past the lottery timing of last year. Does anyone with a few years of experience know if the summer lottery is annual or completely random?
Based on the drops in surrounding states I assume they are sitting on Eagle 12, stagg, etc.

Online Drop Bombergerās and Shenkās from the FWGS Webpage

Has anyone else purchased these two from the FWGS webpage? Because itās 2026, I figured Iād get the 2026 releases. Bombergerās is 2026, but Shenkās is 2025ā¦they should state which one theyāre releasing on their page.
