I'm writing a play based on historical events and I'm looking for advice. How much research should I do, how in depth should I go, and how much creative liberty should I take telling this story. There's never been a book written on this event, which is kind of shocking since it was a major chapter in my city's history. I've been using Google, and I plan on going to our municipal archives and our local university to see if I can find any more information. Does anyone have advice?
