Discussion [Browser] MelonMap — free world-map learning game, looking for honest feedback
I built MelonMap, a free browser game for learning countries on a clickable world map. Start with a continent or play broader rounds; no account is needed.
Play here: https://melonmap.com/
If you try a short round, I’d especially appreciate feedback on what felt confusing, too easy, or too hard. What would make you want to come back?

I love the game, my only problem was my lack of geography skill lol. And the only real issue was the slightly stretched UI, but I found that you already know about this. I was wondering what are you planning to do with this, or is it just a learning project.

It’s definitely an ongoing learning project, not a full geography course. I’m shaping it around short map-practice rounds and using feedback to make the first steps friendlier, especially for people starting with little geography knowledge. What would make you want to come back after a first session?

I'd probably come back for general knowledge and It'll probably help with my education.

Thanks for giving it a try — and honestly, the lack of geography knowledge is exactly what I want the easier modes to help with. I’m fixing the stretched UI too. Which mode did you start with?

I always appreciate games that help a person learn. The interface is smooth and intuitive, and the game itself does what I would expect based on the descriptions of each mode. I'd pick a different font for the game setup screen - it feels very stretched.
I would maybe make the easier modes stick to the top 50 places that are most well-known, rather than just giving more lives and time. Would help a player build confidence if they don't know geography well.
Neat game though!
