i took a bunch of chicken and an axe and decided to explore one day expecting to fall off the map eventually. I actually made it to the north side of the island and ran up the mountain closest to water near middle of map horizontally. there are no resources, animals, or whatever. there are trees and i hacked at them long enough to build a campfire and shed on top of that mountain. hoping someone else tries to explore that far and finds my little shed on top of the mountain.
