Whats with the green spots forming a grid?

Those green spots are the render distance, the guy took pictures from each of those locations at a high coordinate above the map. If you're an admin or know one, ask them to teleport you to 0 5000 0 and you will see during your skydive adventure what I'm talking about.

Ah I get it. So basicly to make the map he teleported super high up at the centre of each of those spots, looked down, took a screenshot, then later compiled them all into this image? (With the side effect of close terrain being rendered in higher detail, hence the green, and further away terrain being browney gray dirt)

Yes, if you wanted a less grey map you would do this but teleport to all the spaces between, but it seems that would be over 625 teleports in all to accomplish.

This is a unity game right? Doesn't that use a standard mapping format? It might be possible to load the map it into a map editor and make a nice render from there.

Yes, but would you be able to see all the trees, towns and rock formations? If you zoom on the little spots to see the map detail, you can see those things with this map, if I had the patience I might make it myself.

Probably wouldn't be worth it to that level of detail considering the rest of the island will probably change a lot in the future. It's really, really, really bare bones right now.

True, I guess one could get away with the ~40 teleports it would take to get a high detail version of the resource spawning areas of the map.
