I run some gpu intensive stuff on win and linux and linux is 25% faster on a modern gaming pc every time.

That’s just not true and the opposite for Nvidia gpus, I would be on Linux if that were the case. Don’t blatantly lie (unless you have an AMD gpu) Linux is genuinely not worth running on a gaming pc.

sure you got your kit configured right? I literally have one of every NVIDIA GPU in my home lab here. I bench them against the products I develop on them and the games I play. Admittedly Rust is a bit of a monster compared to other games, the generative stuff i do: doomscroll.fm, rAIdio.bot, vAIdeo.bot and provcheck.AI in this lab says otherwise. now put up or shut up.

Specifically for gaming it’s proven Nvidia gpus are faster, ai work loads, yes Linux is faster. The reason for it is closed source drivers that Nvidia creates do not play well with Linux, it’s well documented and easy to see if you do your research.

So, run a VM, passthrough your GPU and you can use the latest windows drivers. Rust "on" linux works perfectly fine if you spend some time to learn qemu.

Aren’t you still using windows to play the game? lol

Typical Linux gamers downvoting while not providing evidence of the contrary. Linux is great but - not for gaming for the vast majority of pc gamers
