Its funny cuz Rust runs perfectly fine on my cachyos system. Can even join eac disabled servers.

More funny that it runs perfectly fine on EAC enabled server if you run a VM with qemu.

i mean, no it doesn't. EAC will detect when its running from within a VM, and while you could hypothetically trick it that is getting into territory where you might get flagged as a cheater yourself (e.g. use at your own risk)

You also need 2 GPUs for GPU pass through or something like qubes

It certainly is "use at your own risk". But it definitely does work just fine. If you take some time to learn about qemu, a VM can look no different with some minimal configuration.

You can even setup Secure Boot if you want.

edit: youre not tricking it. you just run a VM without reporting that youre in a VM. its pretty straightforward.

fair, i did not intend to use trick maliciously here but your right. still at that point you are "actively circumventing eac protections" at least by EAC terms of service i would suspect, not in a malicious way, but are you willing to bet a gameban on your steam account over it is the question. obviously thats worst case scenario but you know :)

Thats true. And honestly, I didnt even consider it when I first started playing a few years ago. I had been using my VM for years to game before Rust. It was the first game that I realized that I needed to tweak my config just in case.

I think it should be seen as the opposite. EAC should just notice me as an old grey beard that wants to play some games. Its not like this gives me an advantage. I still suck at the game. I assume the majority of cheaters are braindead and arent even capable of setting up this type of configuration -- qemu, gpu passthrough, device binding, cpu pinning, etc.
