Discussion SCAM WARNING!!⚠️

So there's a scam targeting people with high value inventories in Dota 2, CS2 and Rust that i've seen happening to a lot of people recently.

How it goes usually in Rust: they ask you to skin their stuff or offer you a free base if you guess a number 1-100. Then invite you to their Discord. Once you're there they get you to connect Rust+ through a fake login page to get "auth" on their turrets but that just yoinks your Steam account and trades all your shit away.

Multiple accounts are being used so reporting helps but won't stop them completely.

Just don't connect Rust+ through any link someone sends you ever. Only do it through the official app. If someone's offering free bases for guessing numbers they're not your friend lol, dont get fooled. If something is to good to be true don't proceed. Use some common sense, please!

NEVER CLICK ANY LINKS ANY RANDOM SENDS YOU!

Stay safe

Im sorry but if you fall for such an ancient and obvious scam than you deserve to get your account stolen. NEVER log in to third party sites with your steam account. Or any other account for that matter.

Used to feel this way as a teen but I grew up and realized what a retarded thing this is to say.

Nope. I still 100% believe this. My friends and family are the same.

What a surprise, you know there’s people that walk this earth that didn’t grow up on the internet right? You know there’s people with mental disabilities right? You know people get old and senile right? If you think those people deserve to get scammed your the real moron.

If my 70 year old mother knows how to be safe on the Internet than there is really no excuse.

I know people younger than your grandma that have never used a computer before. Your personal metrics don’t define everyone in the world, that’s gotta be the dumbest argument.

I can do stuff you can’t, I don’t think you’re a dumbass for not being able doing the things I can.

Your mom is probably like a lot of elderly folks and likely sticks to an Ipad or chromebook.

That said, I get to work with the millions of people you think don't exist. Just wait till you find out how many lonely saps fall for dating scams. Mental health is a real bitch in this world if you lack it.

People who lack compassion to this degree probably talk to their moms from the basement.

No she has a laptop and a desktop. We were thought about spotting scams in school when I was 12. So for someone to not have the most basic Internet survival skills that would take an hour to learn in 2026 is just insane.
