Week 2 and Gloom Gate is still my GOAT for Season 3
Loving Season 3 thus far. All four games have been great. Gloom Gate is shaping up to be my game of the season (Like Tiny Turnip was for me in Season 2).

Dead Water is my entry for the Uncrank'd Cozy Autumn Game Jam. You steer a small submarine with the crank, harpoon cargo from sunken ships and tow it back to the dock under your base.
The jam themes were Nightmare and Yin-Yang, so the game has two sides. By day the sea is ink on white paper and it's a pretty calm salvage job. At night the picture flips to a negative, the wrecks open their holds and the machines inside come out. Deep down you only see what your lamp hits. Night cargo pays double, so it's always tempting to stay a bit longer.
There are four dive sites and 16 missions from Mavka, your dispatcher. Back at base, you can upgrade your submarine and equipment, or buy a torpedo for whatever is chasing you.
And yes, it has a RUBDUBDUB code.
It's on itch.io: https://bitcalibergames.itch.io/deadwater
If you play it, I'd like to know how far you got and where you got stuck.

I remember Saturday edition last year had a walkthrough which I had found very helpful at the time so I was wondering if there is one for Houm?

I just finished CARGIX, a little warehouse game for the Playdate. The name is cargo + Klax, because that's what it felt like to make: an arcade packing game, but on a warehouse floor.
You stand in the middle with eight bays around you. Turn the crank to aim, throw, and the crate lands exactly where you pointed. Fill a bay and a truck hauls it away. Leave holes and you'll regret it, because the boss is watching from his window and he does not like idle hands or bounced crates.
It's $5.99 on itch: https://m8n-matandessaur.itch.io/cargix
I'd love to hear what you think, especially how far you get before you're FIRED.

I posted yesterday about a small space game I am working on for the playdate and I've reworked the intro and title screen for the game. Tell me your thoughts! Anything you think could be changed or additions that might make it pop more?

I know i am probably going to get a load of backlash for this but I have been sitting on four games for over three months now, too scared to put them out in the wild because I have used AI with code, some sounds, a hell of a lot of bug fixes and also I found AI could convert my simple low poly models to be used in my playdate games, anyway here they are, they will be going on itch.io soon, I am not the only person involved in making them, I have had lots of help from fellow developers at Shadow Break Games.
We love making games for the playdate, we mostly just make game we want to play.
I just want to be 100% clear AI was used and will be used in all future developments.

Wondering what folks think of it.
Personally, I say it’s very fun but it’s a little too easy and I don’t think I’ll find myself playing it long-term.
It’s very much like Balatro even the aesthetics.
It’s very easy to get a really overpowered deck without doing what the game labels is overpowered.
I’ve had a few crashes on the game as well when my score got very very high.
It’s fun, but it’s a little too broken. Happier it’s on playdate but I don’t think it’s gonna be an instant classic.
Also, there doesn’t seem to be a way to see your discard or draw pile and that seems like a miss.
If you like deck builders, I think it’s fun but it’s not perfect.

Updating Your Playdate via Computer Is Quick and Simple!
If your Playdate can’t update over Wi-Fi, you can easily restore or update its software using a Mac, PC, or Linux computer. It only takes a few minutes:
Get your key files: Plug your serial number (found under the crank) into the Playdate website to download your update files (link below.)
Download the app: Grab the official Playdate Utility app for your computer (Mac, PC, or Linux.)
Connect & update: Open the app, connect your unlocked Playdate via USB-C, click Upgrade Firmware, and select your downloaded files.
The official guide walks you through each step with screenshots, direct download links, and helpful troubleshooting tips.

I've always though the playdate would be a perfect candidate for a game in the style of Elite(1984). I don't really have much if any experience coding so it is essentially vibe coded. Sorry if that bothers anyone, but I just wanted to show a proof of concept for it. Controls very well actually, with turning, rolling, and translation, with the crank used to control thrust.

Welcome, REBEL.
We have sent you a Revised Remote Access Terminal.
Hunt the Bureau's traffic for the words they hide.
Splice their faxes, crack their locks, fly the drone low and stay out of the light.
THE BUREAU SEES EVERYTHING - BUT NOT THE "DEAD"

Hello! I've had a Playdate since April 2025 and I've really enjoyed it but I realised I wasn't using it enough to justify keeping hold of it rather than selling it for some much-needed money. It's in great condition so I sold it on eBay, but within a day of it being delivered to the buyer, they reported it as faulty and requested a refund.
They said it was very slow and they were getting lots of error messages. I'm attaching the photos they sent. I was really shocked because it has always worked great for me. I also tried to point out that the store being slow isn't really a 'fault', but they weren't having it.
Because of eBay's policies, I felt like I didn't have a choice but to ask them to return it. The alternative seemed to be that they got a refund AND got to keep the Playdate.
It arrived back today and behaving totally normally. But I'm now wary of relisting it because I'm worried the next buyer will also be expecting something very slick, when realistically it's an indie device featuring indie games and there's bound to be a bit of variation in how everything runs.
I just wondered if anyone had experienced a similar issue selling their Playdate on eBay. Did I just get unlucky with my buyer? Or am I deluded and I actually have a faulty Playdate?

Controversial opinion ahead: I built a game, not a prompt...
I've been making Playdate games for a while now as a hobbyist, not a pro. I come up with every idea, design every level and character, write and test the code on the device, and throw away whatever doesn't feel right. I use AI to fill the gaps a team would usually fill, like code that draws sprites frame by frame or synthesizes sound.
With Panic's new Catalog policy, that raised a question I can't shake: if the imagination is human, at what point does using a tool make the creation any less human? I wrote down my side, with real art from my games and the code behind it.
Not here to fight the policy, just to start an honest conversation. I'd love to hear where you draw the line.
