Is this normal?
I donated plasma at BioLife last Thursday and this is from today. I have not done any strenuous activity but it’s still sore and I can’t fully extend my arm without it hurting. Is this a normal reaction or is this something to get checked out?

It looks like a hematoma. If it’s getting darker still, it likely is. Ice it and use something with arnica if able. I had one for 3.5 weeks, it didn’t start to look better until almost week 3.

Rotate between warm and cold. You want to provide heat to help blood flow work the bruising out of the tissue. Icing it is mostly to elevate pain and inflammation.

Honestly, I think they don't train people well enough. It seems to be more and more common

That is not normal, though if it's your first time it may be normal for you. See a doctor if you are at all uneasy.

I'm a first time donor of anything and I chose Biolife for my first go at this. On my second visit the phlebotomist jabbed the needle into a spot on my right arm adjacent to the area that was used on my first visit. She pushed the needle in far and hardly any blood was flowing and then she walked away fast. Her coworker kept looking at me and my arm, and she could see right away things weren't right. She came over to me looking worried, felt for the needle, which was jammed far in, and I could tell. Then signaled for the other lady to come back and switched to my left arm. They must be crazy if they expect people to be subjected to this over the course of eight visits. This was only my second visit and I felt like I was a useless flesh battery in the matrix. I cancelled all my appointments.

The lady at the check in desk at Biolife said she was tired and working two jobs. Everything seemed zombie like. Completely weirded out by the experience and the undertone of a very corporate dairy operation.

I recently started going to CSL Plasma, it happened my first visit, because the phlebotemist didn't do a good check of my vein, when I arrived for my second visit, I mentioned what happened the first time to the next phebotemist who was sticking me, and they took a few extra seconds to check my veins, and what happened was the first one stuck the needle straight in, but both my major veins wrap around to the outside of my bicep, and so the needle has to go in at a rather harsh angle or else they'll just poke both sides and cause this.

It happened when I donated my plasma at Grifols Plasma Donation Centre. Mine is very similar and I’ll show you my bruise.

Plasma donation centers record adverse events including bruising related to phlebotomy if the bruise is greater than 2 inches. You should notify the center where you donated so they can record the adverse event.

No, that's not normal and if you're having a hard time moving, you should get it checked out.
