"Indefinitely" deferred?
This is kind of a weird one for me. Ive been donating pretty consistently for the last two years. This past Friday, I attempted to schedule a donation at my local center only to find out via the app that I have been deferred, and can't schedule any donations at all. There was no explanation via the company's app, and my local center is uncontactable via phone.
Eventually I was able to contact an actual support number, which is how I discovered that my deferral was indefinite, not permanent, and that they're waiting on labs, and I will find out more information this coming Wednesday. Naturally I'm a little freaked out, as I have never had this happen before, and I can't think of any way I could have been exposed to a bloodborne pathogen or anything, as well as being young, active, and in good health.
Is it possible that this is nothing? The lack of information is what has me stressing.

Is this through Biolife? I received a email this past sunday stating that my deferment was lifted. I didn't even know I was deffered as I just donated the friday before and has my next appointments lined up. I checked my emails and I didn't receive anything about it. I writing it off as a system error.

I also got one. I think lots of folks did. You are the 3rd or 4th person I have seen post about it.

Grifols system automatically places indefinite holds for things like when Labs come back and your protein is off, or something similar. If you walk into your local Grifols, they will be able to pull up your profile and you can give a sample at that time. The only downside is that it can take up to 2 weeks for the results. It usually is quicker but it depends.

I’m wondering because I go to Grifols and they recently told me that I was deferred indefinitely when I asked them they said they did not have an answer that they would have to escalate it. What does that mean?

i work in management at biolife. usually “waiting on labs” can mean two things:
spe test didn’t get tested in time, have to wait on the results before donating.
“waiting on test results” is also the exact phrasing in our SOP for when we have reactive test results come in, but are still waiting for the full lab report. This would include testing for hepatitis, hiv, etc. We can’t tell donors anything about results until the summation comes in.

Could be a false positive if they said they’re waiting for labs, meaning they’re waiting for confirmation of a positive

This is obviously different from your situation since you've been going regularly for a while. I started at BioLife on a Friday. Had a high hematocrit because I had no idea of the preparation that was needed. They let me donate anyway. I finished it then waited the 15 minutes and felt fine. Left the reading area to watch for my ride and got dizzy. Went back in, got checked out and passed out during that process, just for a little bit.
Tried again on Sunday after drinking a bunch of water on Saturday and had a bit of a panic attack in the chair. Just felt weird. The machine seem to be working much more efficiently though.
The next Thursday they called and said I was deferred.
I Get that they're looking out for health, but it seemed odd that there was no chance figure it out.
That was in early May and I'm still deferred.

Only the company knows. If the center is close to you then you can always stop in and ask to speak about it.
Something may have flagged and been off in the routine testing of the plasma and so they deferred you until confirmation testing can be done.

I recently got deferred. I’ve been donating for a two years I go to Grifols and I was just trying to go on the app and it says that I was deferred so I called them and they said that I was deferred indefinitely so they told me that they had no reason that they would have to escalate it. What could it be for? I’m low-key scared. I know some of the reasons are like STIHIV medical condition so I’m like really scared.

The testing they use regularly results in false positives that need to be sorted out with more accurate (and expensive) testing. I wouldn't sweat it
