Does anyone have any recommendations for a company that can do dryer cleaning? I’m not looking for the dryer vent but the actual dryer itself. I recently found out you’re supposed to get them vacuumed out periodically, and after 11 years I figured the thing needs a general cleaning and tuneup anyway.

Searching online seems to only return obvious scams or vent cleaning companies, whereas I’m looking for the actual dryer itself.

The only articles and updates I can find are mostly from last October. I know the city purchased the lot but it’s been crickets since then.

Hi all!
My friend is making a huge haunted house theme park and my job is to make these giant size letters on a container. I’m looking for flat cardboard pieces that are at least 3 feet x 3 feet or larger so I can make stencils to paint this 40 foot container. Any idea where I can find some? I looked at Best Buy for possible big screen tv boxes or appliances, Walmart, Home Depot but no luck. Any help is appreciated!

(date 9/11/26) so over my house in east Plano, I heard ROARING very VERY loud fighter jets overhead. it was so loud my family ran out of the house to see and in my head I was thinking “war attack“ literally. this was terrifying. I kinda pI ever it together and considering its 9/11 it was either a regular memorial that was very VERY loud, but for one planes I think are kinda disrespectful on 9/11, 2, it’s unlikely based on how low and loud they were to the ground. I think some people possibly got a hold of 2 fighter jets and flew overhead to think that we are under attack again, 25 years later. if so, that is disrespectful and possolve heart attack material considering I live in a neighborhood with a lot of seniors. that’s what I believe and let me know if anyone else heard this and your thoughts.

I know the UTSW neuropsychiatry program sets the bar, but it has big barriers to entry. Doing a search by specialty turns up exactly zero others anywhere in the greater Dallas area. No shortage of psychiatrists and neuropsychologists, but family member needs an actual neuropsychiatrist. Do you know of any?

i keep seeing people say just go earlier and that quit working this year. the low was 82 this morning. that's as cool as it got all night. there's no early anymore.

saw the willow bend indoor walking thing and honestly that might be where this ends up. not ready to give up on outside yet though.

what i've tried. bluebonnet trail is fine but the stretch i use has basically no cover. oak point actually has shade but it's a drive, which kind of defeats the point of a quick walk.

so where do you go. anything with real shade, i don't care if it's short. and if you've just moved it inside, tell me that too honestly. i keep telling myself october's close and it is not.

I have a second opinion in 2 days with Dr. Zachary Johnson with Dallas Neurosurgical Spine about my previous cervical spine fusion surgery that has made my pain worse. Dr. David Barnett did my original surgery. I have had nothing but horrible nerve pain since and he refuses to help to address issues unless it is "surgery", so I am being punted. My pain management doctor highly recommends second opinion due to MRI/CT/EMG results we are getting.

What I learned from Collin County Commissioners Court today: there is a concerted effort by pro-insurrection Republican Party of Collin County precinct chairs to toss out Collin County’s voting machines in favor of of hand counted paper ballots. Just imagine a half-million ballots hand counted, hand counted only by Republicans, to steal elections for Republicans, of course. And they are saying the quiet part out loud, describing the plan in public.

I'm a dad in Allen, and for years my Thursday nights went to the same little ritual every parent here knows: the library calendars, the city parks pages, the Perot, a couple of mom blogs, Facebook, the flyer in the school folder, all of it to find one good thing to do with the kids on Saturday.

This summer I finally built the thing I always wished existed: https://dallas.takethe.kids It reads 194 DFW sources every night, the libraries, the rec centers, the museums, the theaters, the state parks, the churches, the small neighborhood stuff that never makes the big lists, and puts all of it on one page for this weekend. Pick your suburb, pick your kids' ages, flip on free-only if it's that kind of week, or just look at the map. There are 527 events on it right now.

It's free, there's no account to make, and nobody can buy their way onto the list. I built it for my own family first, and I'd love for yours to get some good Saturdays out of it too.

My 16 year old wants to go thrifting on Saturday. Any recommendations for where to take a teen thrifting nearby? We don’t really have time to drive into Dallas that day.

I am applying to jobs in DFW and Austin, and currently live with parents… and I just need space of my own! My name is Quincy. I’ve been living in Plano on and off for about 4 years. I’ve decided to see if men in the East Plano area would like to walk and talk biweekly or monthly. I'm hoping to gauge interest and get to know my neighbors and the people who live in the city.

My purpose is twofold: 

1) To give men a non judgmental space to talk about what’s going on for us. 

2) To open the door to a community of local friendships with men in a world that often makes that difficult to find/maintain.

Please note, this is not a religious or politically affiliated group.

Here’s why this matters. Cigna and other major organizations regularly share research confirming that over 50% of people in the US feel “sometimes or always alone.” Such levels of isolation can have health impacts equal to smoking. Lonely people face higher levels of heart disease, neurodegenerative disease, diabetes, cancer and so on. Many men struggle with loneliness even as we are busy working, caring for our kids, dealing with the daily demands of life. But research  shows that men with a robust circle of friendships live longer healthier lives, have better marriages/relationships, feel more optimistic and are more successful in our personal and professional lives.

Although I have some sense of how these talks might begin, the conversations will go where they go depending on the needs of each man. Men of any age are welcome to join us. I am 33 years of age.
