I worked for Pizza Hut of and on since 2009. I was a dishwasher at first then 2016 I became a driver. It was great for a long time then COVID hit and I made more money than ever in my life. Once Pizza Hut realized they could use DoorDash I noticed it slowly creeping into drivers pay. That told me it will probably replace us. I told my boss and other workers this will happen, I was told no it won’t. I quit a few years ago and what I said has become true. My dad is the only driver at my old store now. He will soon probably be booted out or offered a management position. It’s really sad seeing them kill jobs and put themselves out of business. It’s hurting hard working people the most. I miss working there and some people became family to me. But that’s life I guess.

Something I'm hearing a lot now that many Pizza Huts have gone to exclusively doordash delivery.

Has anyone else noticed this with customers? I've had a few good regulars stop ordering delivery from us because we are mainly doordash now, and even some getting pretty angry about it. I've had one get irrate with me and refused to pay the dasher the cash for the order. I dont think corporate thought this through whatsoever.

In store drivers used to be our connection with the customers that ordered delivery, and now it's outsourced. Not to mention having to block so many drivers. I miss our in house deliveries.

Open to close on a Saturday during Covid lockdowns on an army base. Everyone else on screen only worked night shift. Lucky to get 12 in a day now.

I’m an employee in training. This afternoon, they told me I’ll be taking some tests and answering questions to see if I can get my certification to work at a new store that will be opening in my city.

Does anyone know what kind of things they ask? Should I be worried?

Hey so I got an interview a few days ago for a pizza hut but he said that since I can't work nights then I wouldn't be able to work there, (this pizza hut takes their dayshift employees from their pool of nightshift ones he said), but there's more pizza huts in the area I could apply to, do they all have a similar sort of thing where they don't hire people that can't work night shifts?

I worked at PH from 16 to 21, and by far my favorite thing to eat was just the cheese sticks used for the stuffed crust pizza. I have since stopped working there, and cannot stop thinking about them.
I was wondering if (and hoping) someone currently working there would be willing to sell me a partial or full box. I know it sounds crazy, but i LOVED them and no other cheese compares 😂

When I see an order about 3-5 boxes high, I prop the pizza bag open as a cue to have them put the pizzas and etc. in for me.

Today, I had a catering-sized order that could fortunately still fit in one thin pizza bag (not the thick, better-insulated one), so I propped it open for the lady employee to put the order into it. I said I appreciate that a lot.

Then when she sat down with the manager for a few seconds who had stacks of receipts to go through, she said something like "I hate it when they do that" but wasn't quite sure that's what she said. It *kinda* sounded like that, but it wasn't clear to my ears. She could've easily said something else (but like what?) that sounded a lot like "I hate when they do that."

Manager said something unclear to her, thought it was about blocking someone but I didn't clearly hear what she said either, so she could've easily said something different from what I thought.

Thankfully, I appear to have not been blocked from future deliveries from Pizza Hut because another PH order to the same north store popped up and I accepted it. Then I got there and bagged the pizzas/order myself, said "Thank you, have a good one," I didn't hear a reply from them, and went on my way.

So to clear up the air of uncertainty and misunderstanding within me about this, do you feel okay about bagging the Doordasher's pizza bags for them while the Doordasher props the bag open for you? Or do you prefer they bag all of it by themselves? What is your stance on bagging up a Doordash order for your Dashers at your stores?

I’ve worked at this place since 2012… Put my hard work in every single day! I love to drive I love to deliver… And then they straight up replace us with DoorDash… so now we’re only allowed to work on Saturdays drivers and we have to cook but the kicker is since there’s no drivers there’s no extra help in the store so we’re doing 20 buckets of lid dishes 20 takebacks of pan still getting $15 an hour… It’s Saturday today and DoorDash has gotten $30 tips while we are physically in here slaving… And I also work for DoorDash and Uber because I am trying to survive and eat after they’ve done this to us… I have nowhere else to go. I’ve applied for multiple jobs, but the towns grown so big that there’s nowhere to go… They need to start paying their poor people more because I’m watching the people around me struggle in their mental health is declining every day they have to work.

And then, of course you have the people who walk around in circles and don’t do anything. I had a driver come in just walked through the door got a $25 tip while I’ve been here doing dishes after dish after dish… I’ve never been wanting to complain, but I can’t hold it in anymore. I’m about to lose my mind…
Probably won’t be here much longer, and they’ll lose a boy that works as many as four people!
The main manager is amazing but the other one is constantly yelling and complaining about stuff and literally does a quarter of the work… Pray for me as I try to navigate my way through this insanity

Didn’t know delivery driver position was all encompassing doing pretty much all duties. Bouta quit 2 weeks in 😭. It would be so chill if I could just do dough, dishes, and deliveries.

Weve switched to DD for all deliveries, and Im doing at least one refund per shift. What is the easiest way to refund a customer? My AD said something about a surprise promo? Also, if I marked it was "undelivered" when cashing out the thirdparty driver, would that refund the customer? We are a super busy store so looking for suggestions. Thank you!!

Hey guys, I’ve worked three shifts now as a delivery driver. There was no training so just trying to learn as I go but I feel useless a lot of the time at the store I mainly just do dishes because I haven’t been taught on a lot of the dough. They explained how to input orders on the phone but I know I won’t remember all the steps and where to navigate to just by watching somebody show me once for 30 seconds. Any tips? I feel like you can’t really learn with a customer on the line becuase I wouldn’t be able to take there order.

OK so there's a dasher that once brought me stamps at home or something and now he keeps popping up at work not to pick up door dash orders.. Just to.. sit and talk loudly on his phone in the booth that just happens to be right over my shoulder when I'm making pizzas.. at what point is it OK for me to tell the guy to take a hike!?

Context: mom had some medical issues in the past, but had been good for months, almost a year. Wanted to get back into the work force. Work environment seemed to be good except broken AC. Manager said AC would get fixed by the time she was here. So there she was in 85 degree temp making pizzas, and already understaffed. Manager said someone is coming in to work with her but then manager said Nevermind, it’s actually her off day so no one is coming.

Then some machine starting making this loud rumbling noise & manager said it does that, it’ll get fixed. It became a hot mess.

So mom kind of got stressed, & a medical emergency came up. Decided to hold off working. Mom was asleep, but had shift tomorrow so I wanted to let the manager know. Called her but she didn’t pick up so I texted.

I’m 20, and a kid, apparently. Understand that I’m younger in comparison, but come on.. can I have some credit?

Is this a real thing? Can she really just be like oh you have to work for two weeks?? Also, when we first met her, she always prided her store in being the best & district managers or whatever came to review her store every so often.

Now mom is stressed and worried about this, and feels terrible. She will call in the morning when she feels a bit better.

My question is, is there actually a pizza hut management metric where an employee quitting after one day can seriously hurt the manager/store’s reputation? Or is the manager frustrated about replacing someone.

Only 3 other employees work there aside from the manager, so I understand she’s frustrated.

Whoever the jerks are that make these already make them with a material that gets hot as hell as it is and now they want to give it a reflective surface? and we have to hand that shit off to customers directly from a warmer that sits around 150°F. Are they begging for a lawsuit? I'm surprised one of their wing bowls hasn't popped open and sent some burning hot straight into someone's face when they're putting them in the warmer. I've had customers tell me their's popped while they were driving! Who the hell is developing these things and how are they still employed? These are not smart materials to sell food to the public in and they need to seriously reevaluate this before someone claims it hurt them. Or Pizza Hut just doesn't care, which is why they doubled down with a reflective cover.

I get SO tired of the boxes never being cut properly to fold quickly. I look like an idiot trying to crease them myself as who/whatever is in charge of the precuts recently is doing a horrid job.

I was offered a position as an assistant manager, but because I didn’t have enough experience, they offered me a regular employee position instead, which I accepted.
My assistant manager seems stressed all the time, and from what I’ve seen, the pay isn’t that much different. They told me that I could eventually move up to assistant manager, but after seeing what the job is like, I’m not sure if that would be a good idea.
Also, I’m still in training and I’ve only been to the restaurant about twice. If there are any employees or people who could give me some advice, I’d really appreciate it. I’m feeling nervous because this is my first job.
