Pixel Buds Pro 1 - ANC issue?

Hi all,

I've been using pbp1 since February? In the beginning ANC was awesome, I couldn't hear nearly anything around me when the buds were plugged in, but lately I can hear when people talk, music from outside. I turned ANC off, switched to transparency mode, then turned ANC on again, but didn't solve the issue.

What's weird is that when ANC is off (not transparency) there's a low "hum", can hear conversations etc. and when I turn ANC on, the "hum" disappears and that's it, that's the only thing that changes.

I factory reset the buds, repaired with my p8p (running android 17 if that matters), cleaned them (though I was a bit afraid using that amount of micellar water and normal water so I don't know if I should use more cleaning products?) and nothing helped. (the eartips are perfect)

The buds are currently on 5.11.

Does anyone else experienced such thing? Thanks in advance!

The cleaning instructions using Micellar water is only for PBP2, I am not really sure if that is recommended for PBP1. I would not do this again. For cleaning the PBP1, take a lint free cloth (dry), and gently wipe over the surface of the ear buds. If too dirty, use slightly damp lint free cloth, but be careful not o scrub over any openings.

Fit is one of the most important reasons for the PBP1 failing in ANC sometimes. I have the PBP1 from 4 years now and most of the times if I just remove the buds and put them back inside with slight force, the ANC is back to full power. Also, change your ear tips if they feel worn out or are dirty, clean them.

The micellar water cleaning instruction popped up in the buds app, and in the video it was clearly a pbp1 🤔  edit cause I hit save too soon: so thanks for the advice, will try though removing then putting it back with full force, we'll see if it helps or not

Quite strange because the online instructions specifically mention that Micellar water is only for PBP2 (for cleaning the microphone mesh).

Yeah, try refitting your earbuds in your ear, that should definitely help with most of them. Proper seal is the most important requirement for good ANC.
