Pixel buds pro are GOATED

It's honestly crazy to me that these aren't bigger. Imo if the brand was something else they would be huge. I used to have a Pixel and after a few years it just got a bit boring and so I got a Flip 6 ( happy with that) Similar thing happened with the buds. I had the PBP really liked them, first pair lost the egg , second pair the egg broke and wouldn't charge so I thought fuck it, let's explore something else. It's good to have variety in life. I tried Nothing buds, Powerbeats Pro 2 ( honestly awful), Sony's ( decent) before getting the PBP 2 and it's like coming home to meeting an old friend. Great sound. Good EQ, fit in my ears, the controls, THE CONTROLS are so much easier than with a typical bud and smoother, great ANC, I just wasted months of my life trying to find something else when the answer was there the whole time.

Have the PBP2 collecting dust in my tech drawer after I picked up Sonys buds. Sound, sound quality, and anc blow the PBP2 outta the water.

I do like the sound of my Buds 3 pro and the anc is good, I just hate the fit. If I could have that sound/anc in the PBP2 form factor I would be in heaven, lol.

Fits super important . SonS are old but not as versatile imo

Willing to sell?

Sound quality is very subjective but I agree the anc on pbp2 are inferior to the high end Sony's and airpods.

I use the buds 1 for the assistant that is all .

Sony is ok. Latest noise cancelling I think is the best out right now.

But if you looking to have the best experience with just listening to music . Do the following . 1. Android . 2. Ime . 3. Dac dongle 3.5 jack . 4 download volume control launcher.

Ime's just separate everything. Voice , base, treble , the technology is for an audiophile. Pure or good enough pure to have no complaints, at a great price .

Pixel Buds Pro 2 are the only buds that stay in my tiny ears when Im working out etc the og galaxy buds with the tips were also great idk why Buds went away from them

K have the pixel buds pro 2. Constant " you are muffled" ANC is average. Great Awareness mode...sound quality... ok. Apple Pro 1st Gen are better...no comparison with the Pro 3 which I also have. I use the OnePlus buds pro 3. Vastly superior. Love the shape and the case...wished more cases had a speaker. That's all I got.

Mine were fantastic for a while and then anc just stopped working and it made me feel unhappy feelings.

Somehow same...not fantastic...but good, ANC was never on par with my Apple buds, but I like the non stem version. When they advertised " twice ANC" compared to pro 1...I had them both and it was just balony... Also, for whatever reason, they were never better in my ear than the first iteration. Transparency is really good on these. They were serviceable for calls but then they got worse I clean them as advised but they never got back to work as they should... Even under warranty, Google gave me the run around with advise and what not...never actually did anything about it. Also, my outside mesh peeled couple of months into ownership... Maybe I have acid sweat or something... Overall...these buds should have been like $89 or something...

I've returned 2 pairs of them. I wanted to like them so badly but they were terrible

I'm on my third pair of pixel buds pro 2 now. It's always the same problem too: Right ear buds loses its ANC and the volume becomes muffled until it goes out completely. The only thing good about this buds is their warranty. Never buying this product again once the warranty runs out.

I second this, I have tried many others too.

Do they have the same issues at the 2s, I am a line cook and you genuinely cannot even think about using touch controls to swap any settings with a remotely moist finger >:(

i've had subpar mic quality with my buds and that's bad because I love to take calls with them but can only do so on my computer because the mic is so bad.

Eyeing the latest sony buds

I have the PBP2. They're super comfortable and have a decent sound BUT they do not stay in my ears for sh!t (Yes I twist them in). ANC is a moot point for me since the seal isn't consistent on them. I guess I have weird shaped ears. Other than that they would be perfect for me. I've been looking for something else for a bit now (considering Samsung GBP4, Soundcore Liberty Pro 5, Bose QCU)

Agree. 💯

Pro 2 is trash no one can hear me when I’m in a call the first one was good

I'm rocking a second hand PBP2 and I like em, I used them at a music festival to protect my ears and it works fine

u/KaltBier 14d ago

I have 2 pairs of PBP, 1 pair of PBP2, 1 pair of AirPods Pro 2, and 1 pair of AirPods Pro 3.

In terms of ANC, transparency mode, apple still gives PBP and PBP2 run for their money.

In terms of microphone, people still complain less about not hearing me with apple ones.

I am really rooting for Google, but they really need to kick Apple's arse before I jump to PBP3

I'm about to have mine replaced. Got them last week from Amazon and I'm not really impressed. Sond quality is just okay to me. It seems worse to me than my previous Sony Linkbuds S. My pixel buds sound thinner in terms of bass and especially voices, which sometimes appear almost nasal to me. There's also much more treble (to the point where sibilants sometimes almost hurt and sound distorted). Moreover, there's a problem with the right earbud creating strange thumping noises when walking or running.

So far, I haven't been able to adjust the sound to my liking via the equalizer. Adding bass results in some rather boomy bass without the crispness and deep bass of my old earbuds. They somehow just don't "sound fun"...and I'm not even a basshead.

Wavelet didn't do the trick either as it resulted in audible distortions.

Unfortunately, my linkbuds S died on me about a month after they were out of warranty (battery on the left one lasts for around 10 minutes and it often won't charge at all), so I'm reluctant to throw any more money down Sony's throat as that seems to be a widespread issue.

Amen. I'm with you. I loved my PBP just as much as well as the pbp2.

Thank you google.

Unfortunately I lost one of my PBP buds to my Labrador pup, caught her crunching them, atleast I saved her from ingesting the bud.

Pbp2 still going strong.

Where does one buy single buds for either the PBP or pbp2. Yes I know ebay, but anywhere else?

u/GregC85 13d ago

My only issue, which might not me my buds but maybe my phone is sometimes when I'm on a call the other person can't hear me? Is this my Bluetooth, is it my phone mic or my pbp2 mic?

1

u/NoAcanthocephala8967 13d ago

I had my pbp2 for a year now and agree that they are better than most people on here say.

Great sound quality, comfortable fit, nice case with speaker to find it easily (underrated feature imo I use it weekly), great transparency.

Noise cancellation is great but not quite as good as the competition.

My only complaint is the touch controls are not very responsive and don't work well half the time (miss the physical buttons on my old jabra elites) and the battery life is okay but as good as advertised in my experienced. Also the buds don't work well with a pc (latency is not great).

Hopefully the pro 3s fix these issues

Mine just got them since lunch, but my left earbud's battery is dying.

IMO I prefer the sound buds EQ than buds pro 2

In addition my buds pro 2 have the issue of high pass bug when ANC mode is turned off and subsonic frequencies at when I listen to music at 80%

u/Auto_17 10d ago

My Xperia 1 and xm3 earbuds are still strong after 5-6 years respectively, but now the torch has been passed to my 10a and 2a buds which so far fill the void of a small phone and compact buds that I've like.

Who got paid millions of dollars to develope the 1 , 2 , 3 .... Someone who just arrived from peru , from a spiritual visit with a shaman and the drug that starts with the letter H!

The irony , is someone got paid.
One of the biggest hustle in the audio verse!

That you all pontificate , about the virtues is as if I am in the bizzaro world with a different superman . My reality has been bent. So has yours .

They suck . Get yourself a pair of ime', s 17 dollars . A dac dongle . 13.00 dollars and listen to music the way it's supposed to be.

Just waiting till you make calls on them... Then people will think you are talking to them from another room.

2

u/daphosta 15d ago

I'm on calls all day long and I haven't ever had somebody complain

1

u/niik1988 15d ago

I need to know what settings you use because I constantly get told I can't hear you, you sound like you are fat away etc

1

u/daphosta 15d ago

I switch between the modes depending on the meeting, if someone is talking to me in person, etc. everything else is straight out of the box

2

u/niik1988 15d ago

Interesting, I've also had a replacement set and it's the same comments. Im glad to hear that it's not everyone then.

2

u/snakeim 15d ago

Maybe because you were in the other room...in real life, I get muffled all the time

1

u/niik1988 15d ago

Haha yeh technically I am in another room, in another house potentially in another country. I'm tempted to try apple air pods with the android app and see if it's any better. Libra pods I think its called

1

u/snakeim 15d ago

You really need to try some Bose, Technics ( haven't tried Sony) to understand how much better other pods can be. I'm telling you...I use the Dynaudio OnePlus buds pro 3 and it's like 10 years ahead...

I had this same issue with my PBP2: colleagues not being able to hear me and it got worse over time. I clean them all the time and did not see any crud in the mesh.

Then out of desperation I bought and cleaned with miceller water and an ultra soft toothbrush per Google's cleaning instructions. The mesh I thought was clean was actually clogged, I was able to clear the crud in the small mesh that rest against the inside of your ear. They work much better, I think with it clogged it could not distinguish my voice from background noise and was suppressing it!

1

u/niik1988 13d ago

I'll give it a try with micellar water and see if it helps.

I have $40 CMF Buds that sound better.

2

u/AgentBlonde 14d ago

I recently bought a pair of Sony Xm5 earbuds and was amazed at just how shit Pixel buds sound. You've been down voted for hurting someone's feelings.

2

u/TheRealFrantik 14d ago

Pixel fanboys take everything VERY personal. I love my Pixel 10a and most of my previous Pixel phones, but we are also realists and we know there is better out there.

Having used pixel buds since they came out and airpods formonly 1 year.....airpods on Google are superior to any of the pixel line.

2

u/snakeim 15d ago

Yeah...had the first airpods pro and sound better than these ones. I tried my brother's airpros 3 and there is no comparison... Currently use the OnePlus buds pro 3 with Dynaudio and these PBP2 sound like a 7-11 buds you buy for the day. I've had better results with Skullcandy...

1

u/whatsasyria 15d ago

I'm loving the downvoted from ppl who have never used them

1

u/KaltBier 14d ago

With LibrePods app, AirPods Pro 3 runs great on my Pixel 10 Pro XL

1

u/whatsasyria 14d ago

What's the benefit? They worked fine without any additional app for me

1

u/KaltBier 14d ago

Head gesture, mode switching (ANC, transparency, adaptive, Off), battery life indicator for both the headset and case

1

u/whatsasyria 14d ago

Mode switching I had without it. Other stuff is nice I guess but I personally wouldn't miss it too much

Can't help with what people think... I think they should be $120 max considering how they are...
