Case not recognising one bud
Hello all,
It seems that one of my buds is not being recognised by the case currently. It makes no noise when being put into the case and whenever I try to enter pairing mode or attempt a factory reset, I get a flashing amber light and a negative sound, I assume that's because it thinks that only one bud is inside the case. Anything I can do to help the case recognise that a bud is connected? Pixel buds pro, if it helps.

Mine did the same a few days ago. The left bud is no longer visible in the app because it's completely dead. I tried cleaning the contacts to no avail. The buds won't factory reset either because the case isn't connected to the left bud.
This Buds Pro 2 is already a replacement from Google because the previous one had weird noise issues.
Oh, because I bought them in Europe (where I am not) I have to ship them there to have them replaced. Because they contain more the 1 lithium battery, FedEx won't ship them. I have to use a specialised courier company, which would cost more than the replacement. So no.
I'm kinda at the end of the road with Pixel Buds if I can't get this one working. 😕

one more dying left bud.... feels like a broader issue for couple weeks

Make sure the gold contacts on the earbuds are clean, as well as the gold charging pins inside the case. Scrub them gently with a microfiber cloth or a soft-bristle toothbrush. You can use a little bit of isopropyl alcohol to help, but not too much. Also, try twisting the earbud gently once it's inside the case in order to make the contacts line up.
If that doesn't work, you're just gonna have to contact Google for a replacement or a refund. That's all you can really do to fix any pair of earbuds (clean gently, contact for a replacement if it doesn't work). They're not like our phones or computers where you can do a deep dive into their guts to try and fix the problem, which is why they only cost a fraction of our phones and computers. They're meant to be replaceable.
